At this pace of 5 points in 10 games, Debrusk would hit 40 points again. He won't remain stuck on one goal. Then he is a playmaker as you say. The projections are 8 goals and 32 assists. I guess the Bs need him for shootouts and PK. The real need is a goal scoring winger. Debrusk is failing to adjust to the changes in the lineup at this point. He should play with Marchand. I think it's fair to say he didn't get off to a great start, though some of that was being a bit snakebitten, hitting posts, etc. 5 points in his last 8 games. I think that's more the pace I expect of him for the rest of the year now that it seems Monty has settled the lines.

Looking at the practice lines via Sandor's 11/9 Game day thread, Debrusk is on the 3rd line. When Jake cannot out do JVR then his game is not on. That "meeting" of the minds is telling. I hope you are correct that his game is back on track nonetheless. Rounding out his game from 2 years ago is a sign of maturity. Then I think he is 27, time is not on his side if he is need of more time to adjust scoring goals.

I would bet DeBrusk is back with Coyle and Marchand tomorrow night. As for JVR, I don't think that's a straight up competition. I think it's all about chemistry and balance. Last year, DeBrusk wasn't the top RW on the team just because he played on Bergeron's line and Pastrnak played with DK/Zacha. Same thing here. If the Bruins were told they had to throw one of JVR and JDB into a woodchipper, it would be JVR all day long.

Poitras is too skilled to leave with two grinders so they need to give him Debrusk and hope they can form some chemistry. Theoretically, Debrusk should get more looks with Poitras as his center than with Coyle so there's the win-win they are hoping for. Then you can go with a heavy line of Freddy-Coyle-JVR as 2A. Heavy, down low kind of style with JVR working the netfront. Don't hate the idea. I was actually thinking I'd like to see them call up Lysell to reward him for 3 straight hot weeks down in Providence. If Lysell-Poitras-Debrusk could click on a line together that could be a pretty potent line whether you want to call them the 2nd or the 3rd line.

I think now at some poimt you need to just keep playing Jake & hope he comes out of his drought! I don't think he's hurting the team (few are), so I think just he needss to play himself out of it!

Jake had inflated stats because he got lucky by playing with 37 & 63 for a year. Now we are looking at the regular Jake. And now he's dragging Potsi down with him. Poor Potsi, playing with Jake and Heinen.. He's going to need to do everything himself. Zero help with his slump.

Jake has been having a very good but quiet season. Hasn’t scored much but his play has been exemplary, hard in the corners, in front of the net, along the walls, In d-zone. Hasn’t quit like the old JDB would have by now. He has been making his line better. Good to see him get that huge goal last night.

But for some reason, starting to feel like DeBrusk is not going to be on the Bruins after the trade deadline.

Race for the puck in in the boards, he literally let's the guy go in and have it, trails the play because he want no part of physicality and the puck pops out the him by pure fucking luck. He's a soft as a shit. I'm convinced he will never come close to last years numbers unless he's placed in a really good situation again.. Was the benefit of being on line 1 when he didn't deserve it. Spoiled little puke... Going gets tough and the tough demand a trade. Gets 8M and put on line 1 instead. I'm guessing it was to up his value, but that definitely backfired as we see what he really is... And isn't.

But for some reason, starting to feel like DeBrusk is not going to be on the Bruins after the trade deadline. He has value as a LW and especially on the PK. Even if he does not match last year's output he is worthy of keeping with a signed contract at 5m per. Any team trading with the Bs will ask for his services as his contract demands will be tempered by this year's output. Don't mess with the team's success will be tested once again this weekend. Eventually though DS needs assessment of Poitras as a legit center. Do the Bs need another defenseman after watching Hampered in decline? In other words if DS needs to make a trade, Debrusk is a goner. getyarn.io/yarn-clip/3b134575-0532-4ed4-b0c6-f89ca5f71543
