Wow. So happy Healy Strombo gone. PJ I liked. I like Marek, Stock, and Jaffe actually. But like anyone else with ears, I hate Healy. I've never seen an announcer act like a bigger bitch and take things more personally than Healy with the 2011 Stanley Cup. There was no end to his whining and bitterness. I'm still surprised that no video evidence surfaced of him in the middle of the riots.

P.J is okay, he's gotten better. Jaffe is good, I like Kevin Weekes work on the NHL Network the best.

I can't stand Token Kevin. He's as mutable at Emerick.

Have they ever found that guy who mugged Weekes on the way to the bank machine in Vancouver?

Weeks might be nice for the goalie insights, but I don't enjoy him much either. He seems like Captain Cliche to me. It's always this over-analysis of some insignificant thing followed by the dramatic interpretation like "he just knows how to win" or "that's how to play the game".
You see a deflection go off a shin pad and into the net and Weeks is always there to impart some bit of hackneyed wisdom like "you can't score if you don't shoot" or "they don't ask how, they ask how many". I find him dull and and it seems like he always picks the low-hanging fruit for his opinions.
Too many ex-players get these jobs to begin with.

Anson Carter has gotten better. I like Kelly Hrudey a lot great personality. A ton of hockey fans hate Gary Galley I don't.
Chris Cuthbert and Gord Miller are outstanding. Kenny Albert is awful and he will probably take over as #1 for NBC.

Kenny Albert is awful and he will probably take over as #1 for NBC. Sometimes i think its just that a person gets a fill of an announcer and can't stand him. For instance i don't mind Alberts and Emrick, but tire easily of Miller & Hughson, mainly because i get those two all the time. You guys in the states get an overdose of Emrick & Alberts. They're all good announcers in my mind as far as voice quality and such, but its their in game banter that gets on my nerves, some think they're really funny and witty, but are neither. In Hughson's case i just get tired of his constant droning on about negative things with the B's, sensitive to it i guess. Plus the fact that his broadcasting partner was Healy, he would even bring Dan Kelly down.

You know the saying, "he had a face that was made for…..", Cox fits that to a T.

Certainly no less interesting than the ex-goons they send out (Chase, Rupp, etc.) Forget about race, I like how women can only get on the air by being shameless eye candy for the viewers. Works on me too. That Kelly Nash was on one day and I couldn't pay attention to whatever gibberish she was reading off the cue cards for the life of me.

Elliott Friedman is the only women worth her salt that knows anything about hockey, the rest are all eye candy for us knobs.

Miller and Cuthbert just call the game. Elliott Friedman is the only women worth her salt that knows anything about hockey, the rest are all eye candy for us knobs. His pro Montreal is annoying. LeBrun is a Hab fan, you can tell, but he doesn't run with it and annoy everyone like Friedman.

Thats what a professional play by play man does, which for Hughson is impossible, especially if he's doing a Nucks game. I find Emrick and Alberts are impartial as well, although they might not have the best broadcasting style.

Absolutely. Those Isles' checking lines have been so great because they also had a some pretty skilled guys on them. Clutterbuck has talent, pretty good hands and can skate like the wind. Guys like Cizikas could really skate too and get possession. Martin was unquestionably the least talented guy back there, but he could hit everything and stick up for his teammates. He's really good in that role. I like him and would love to see him on the Bruins. But at that price/term? No thanks. Save the money for our many other needs.

Kelly was up with two through the hands and one through his feet for making $3M and he's a real NHL hockey player. I'm sure there are other guys out there who can skate and check as well as Martin that would cost half that.

Martin just thrived this season because of his line mates were monster this year. Put him on a normal 4th line and i don't see him doing that well.

Matt Martin's best yr point wise was 19. I realize thats acceptable for a 4th liner that hits a lot . Paying him between $3-$4 mil a yr for doing that is not.

But, of course, if he isn't going to the B's (or the Cats!) to be a fourth liner for fourth line money, I hope someone does sign him for a whopper like that. Dopes. To compare: Bjugstad, who at 23 years old already has one 20 goals season, is signed to 2021 for $4.1M per.

I'd tell him he'll stay in the lineup as long as he just hits every time he's on the ice. Martin is a great player when he's paid accordingly. Anything above 2 million is too much for what he does.

Thats exactly what Rinaldo was doing for $800,000 or something like that. He had energy and hit. He didn't get many pts, who cares. He had one questionable hit and was suspended never to return. I really didn't see the big deal about using him in the lineup, he did his job. I know Zac's reputation and is well deserved but i thought he really tried to keep his nose clean with the B's. He's better than paying Matt Martin $3 mil a yr.
