In 2011, Chara, Seidenberg were shutdown D and Thomas a stonewall in the biggest games of the season...27,73, and 35 were absolute opposites in this series overall.

I'm gonna go with Would Shouldas 1. Bergeron playing at all in this series, moster mistake after up 3-1, killed mojo adversity angle when the team played its ass off without 37/46 in games 3 and 4. 2. Not playing Swayman earlier in the series 3. Not inserting Greer who was the only physical beast late in reg. season and needed to combat Florida's hard hitting. 4. Moving Zacha to wing after he was enjoying center late in reg. season and where he was a machine. ...the rest was bad hockey by a number of players who had been really good in reg. season.

Krejci comes through old and injured.
Who would have thought goaltending by Ulmark would take the Bruins out in round one. Panthers go with a no name and Bob - they both out play the Vezina trophy winner. Bruins should reverse roles. Swayman gets the lead. Ulmarks gets the back up tag.

I know I may be in the minority. But I’m not sure I would have used DK or Bergie into this game. I can’t get over how they are missing passes, falling and just give away passes. Is it too much to ask for a perfect 3rd. I thought they both played quite well

Well, let's examine this...27,73,(17,75 who deserved HS),11,74,63,37 did FUCKING NOTHING IN THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE SEASON...INSTEAD SOME OF THOSE GUYS WERE GIVING AWAY PUCKS AND LOSING EVERY PUCK BATTLE AND DIDN'T HUSTLE BEHIND NETS OR CARED TO BLOCK A SHOT...WHAT HAPPENED WAS NO PHYSICAL PLAY, PUSSY I FEEL SORRY MYSELF HOCKEY...FUCKING PUSSIES. Yes, but that's exactly what I don't get! Were they just exhausted from busting their ass to get the stupid President's trophy? Better to not bother with first place and rest your players I guess. this needs pushed back with great force. they play hockey games. when they play them, it's preferable to win. "rest" and a career as a pro hockey player...don't mesh. rest is rust.

I just don't get it. Best team in history loses to the wild card team after being up 3 games to 1. Makes no sense. losing game 7 is one thing. losing game 7 when up 3-1 is another. losing game 7 when you set a 100 year record ..against a team that has no business beating you,,,in the first round....is yet another

I'm a 42 year season ticket holder. An avid and loyal Bruins fan. When you play below your ability, allow yourselves to be outworked. You'll lose. Especially in a 7 game series. The Bruins did both. They were outworked. Florida caught some timely breaks but if the Bs were playing well, it wouldn't have mattered.
On to next year.

The breakdown of the final goal is a perfect example of the whole series... 2 panthers outworking and out smarting 4 B's. B's Defense leaving Verhage alone, Tkachuk completely alone in front of sway, and all started off my Tkachuk out hustling and beating (passing even) 2 bruins to the puck on the forecheck... And out come the tear soaked golf clubs.
This shit happened all series long... And when it wasn't this, it was just STUPID defensive mistakes, giveaways and gifts.
Historic collapse.

Spot on sizzle. I like their nucleus with Bergy closing up shop. They’ll be back! Love the Bs baby!!!!! Dunno. Marchand, Bergeron, Bertuzzi, even DK, in an understated way...those guys are warriors. Hall, Charlie, Pastr aren't. That probably will never change. You are or you aren't. This is all attitude and execution. and leadership. So many headscratchers. Hatheway for example. Where'd his tenacity and toughness go? He's been around enough to know you have to be extremely disciplined in the playoffs, but you don't quit being physical. It's like he got some strange coaching message. This team got beat and knocked off the puck so many times it was criminal. Seriously, the overall effort we saw, woulda had our B's spanked in 4 or 5 against reasonable playoff calibre competition. It's like they didn't want to expend too much energy on this round....save it for later.

Puck watching a lot in own zone...lot of puck watching...couple of times I was wondering if 63,74,71,92,13 and many others were at the park with binoculars getting in some bird-watching. Sure as hell wasn't hockey.

At the golf course, Tuuuks, Z, and McQuaid need a 4th, sizz. Could have used those 3.

AJ Greer was a better option as actually doing something to disrupt Florida as we had pansies all over the place. Here I am pining for #10..talk about straw grasping and stick clutching.

On to next year. great post rob. it says everything. can't criticise the ability, or the constructon. the only thing to discuss about this disaster over the next few months is "why"? aint about the breaks,,,ain't about whether this guy or that guy should be in game 7. ain't about injuries. ain't about the refs, or home ice. ain't about goaltending either. that's the hard thing to get a handle on. slumps happen, but this team hasn't played intense, structured hockey in a long time. have to think the messaging was wrong. I wasn't confident going in, cuz I wasn't seeing structured hockey. Not starting Sway for game 5 was brain dead. when you have a 1a and 1b tandem, you don't want one getting rusty. the line juggling doesn't exude "staying within the moment"...it screams "what da fuck do we do now"? I just hate it for some of these guys. This is just such a meltdown. This'll be a Jeopardy question in 10 years, and the whole world will know the answer.

They addressed the team softy stuff in my eyes. But man it reared its head in the playoffs. Teams with Gudas Schenn are moving on. You need these types in playoffs. Gudas looked like a Norris winner compared to our turnover machines. I really hope they can find a way to bring back Bergie and DK. I know a lot are saying turn the page. I don’t want to. I want a story book ending. Bergie played at an elite level and maybe the chance to play for Canada again makes him reconsider. A long break is gonna help him. Bring back Lucic as well. The last dance would be complete that way.

He was the guy we all acceptable, even though nobody really liked him, because of the potential for him to punish and bully opposing teams D. He didn't. He didn't really seem like he hit anyhow and disrupted anything. The checking line never really got off the ground, in terms of hits, forechecking, and disruption.

Would like to see more of Taylor Hall and less of David Krejci. This was a prophetic post from the other day. Oh ye of little faith in #46. Maybe the best Bruin in game 7.

Embarrassing. The Merlot Line remains intact as the toughest mofo 4th line maybe ever for B's. I tip my hat to Thornton, Paille and Campbell.

But Lucic makes a lot of sense to me. He would have thrived and gave us exactly what we wanted. I’m seriously wanting dk Lucic bergie to come back and to add a pure thumper on the back end. Id take Schenn all day everyday for a million.

Keep watching highlight of that OT goal...that really was the series in a nutsheel..5 B's are surrounding Sway, but no one is hitting anyone or bothering to actually go after the puck. It was soft collapse around #1 and it allowed for a short-range shot in traffic. Pathetic end.

It was bizarre, like he was playing forward and looking to send outlet stretch passes. He was awesome pretty much since acquired, but part of an entire group of D that simply got very soft in front of B's goalies.
