Wotherspoon just showed why he's an AHL D. Why he skated to the middle of the ice and forgot about Larkin is AHL awareness alright. Mind boggling. Big wake up game tonight. Got 1 back but need a mini miracle tonight.

Terrible team play in the third with Lohrei and Wotherapoon showinf why they were in the AHL. Lhorei sleep walking his way back to the bus rides? my first reaction on Spoon was also “AHL for you”, but Carlo switched sides on him and he was late on the pickup…the latter is a learning opportunity, the sleep walk is asking for punishment.

Look I think we all knew something like this may well happen with two career AHLers in the top 6 and a raw rookie playing top 4 mins. Thick skin and plough forward until some of the regulars start returning.

Monday at Dallas won't be any easier...
That's why you can't have one of your top d-men (alternate captain to boot) trying to deliver "justice" with bonehead plays like Charlie McAvoy going headhunting. (Come to think of it, nobody should be doing this, not even your AHL goon call-ups. Hits like McAvoy's on OEL can end a player's career, as we have seen.)
WTF was McAvoy thinking? (I hope that's a "shit, what have I just done?" expression.)
This is the 21st century. How many cameras do they use to broadcast NHL games?
If a guy goes down after being hit in the head, they will have footage of the hit in question. Chances of a perpetrator getting away with it nowadays are next to zero. Not that I think they should.

I read where McAvoy is appealing his suspension...........huh!?? I mean it checks all the boxes clearly, hit to the head of an unsuspecting player, premeditated and intentional, injured said player and Charlie has been suspended before. Should be a short hearing, easy one for Bettman.

With the exception of Carlo (MVP of the Bruins so far) and Lindholm. All the Bruins had issues getting the puck out.

First, the quality of the officiating can be evaluated as a "C", needs improvement. What we witnessed in the third was typical of what strategy will be applied against the Bs this year. Isolate Pasta, then score 4 plus goals to win. The defense last night was quite telling. In three minutes the Bs let up three goals and a one goal lead. The Bs had chances early in the third to extend the lead. Actually I am glad the undefeated season hoopla is over. Two more games before the return of McAvoy. I still take Lohrei over Gryz, but it won't happen. Forbort was missed on the penalty kill. Hampered Hampus was ok. Carlo was exhausted. Ullmark was really not to be faulted. On to Dallass

I agree. But there seems to be a precedent for reductions to these things on appeal, even if the suspension was warranted. He might be successful on getting a game knocked off. Why not try, I guess?

I can't say i liked that game in detroit, we coughed up leads of 2-0 and 3-2, yes we are depleted on D but looking forward to Swayman next game, he has been our goalie 1 so far.

Apparently there was another hit by McAvoy in the first period on Verhaeghe that looked similar. CharlieMc should be careful here, getting Bettman involved when he's got egg all over his face.
If this was meant to be payback for the 1st round loss in the playoffs, it was a very bad choice.

McAvoy's hit on Verhaeghe. He's trying to clear the crease, but still makes contact with opposing player's head.

Yeah, the old nothing ventured nothing gained scenario but it seems pretty lame. Hey Charlie pays union dues so he wants to see some action for his money, who knows.

By the time Bettman hears Charlie's appeal the 4 game suspension will be served anyway, but he could get some salary back if it's reduced. I will be shocked if it's reduced though.
