The B's made the Flamers look like Cup,contenders both games they played. I didn't feel that last night. Flames had a couple of pushes, but for the most part, I thought Markstrom stole one for the 'lames. True enough with that, still the B's got 1 pt out of a possible 4 from these guys, oh well shit happens.

I can live with Macs minimal mistakes. He gets made at himself then will go lay a big hit or go on a great offensive rush. Yep, no one is perfect (just ask Bourque) but at least he learns and tries to make up for it. Forbort, Shatt, Wother, and even Calro were horrible tonight. In particular Forbort. Slow, non-physical, zero puck handling ability, and all at the low low cost of $3mill I don't think Forbort is right. He either isn't back to 100% after his most recent injury or the most recent set of injuries have permanently altered his game. He's been soft, and his skating is worse.

If that was a game against Florida or the Laffs, you kind of hate that they get the extra point, but against the west, I don't lament the lost points too much. You won't meet that team in the playoffs, you're done with them for the year, it's frustrating to lose two against them, but...meh. We're on to Vancinnati.

Yeah it could well be he is pretty much done, injuries have taken their toll. B's can do better and move on.

Overall, I'm surprised more flack isn't directed at Pastrnak and Marchand when the team is playing the way it has this month. Pastrnak's still over a point/game in February, but they needed him to hit the effing net and finish like an elite goal-scorer last night, and he seemed sleepy for long stretches. There was one D-zone sequence where suddenly he was really hustling and not doing the Ovi special where he watches over his shoulder because he's waiting to fly the zone. But it stood out because it was the most dynamic he looked for most of the game. Somehow he's still +5, but his impact has been lesser lately. Earlier in the year, we was getting the first goal of the game or the third period game winner/clincher.
Marchand's scoring close to 0.50 points per and he's a minus player this month. Geekie has just 3 points and is a minus 5. And the Woodstock dust is off Heinen. He's stopped scoring and he's collecting minuses at a rapid rate - dash six. Monty's blender needs to lose the Freddy-Geekie-Woodstock setting.

Yeah, his deal expires this year, so easily done. You wonder if he can have another of those runs where he just eats pucks like we've seen so many aging veteran D do in the playoffs for a last hurrah, but if I'm Sweeney, I would be considering whether we have a higher priority to shore up the defensive defense corps than adding scoring. Not so much Hanifin as Tanev, to put it in the current context.

Not on the current roster or in Providence. Agree I don't Sweeney wii resign FORRbort but dumping at the deadline I wouldn't agree with.

20th for Coyle. Congrats! Look up “answering the call” or “seizing opportunity” and you see Coyle this year. What a season for him.
