One of a very small number of vocalists who are perfect for rock. No order here but I love Paul Rogers and classic Winwood. And Paul Rodgers still sounds great. It's crazy. I could dedicate the rest of my life to becoming a vocalist and I might be able to get to something like 1/100th of how good he still sounds. I think it's something about his natural range, and just how effortless it is for him within that range. Same with Daltrey. Never, ever sound strained either of them.

And Rodgers witnessed what happened to Paul Kossoff. Good reason to stay away from drugs and taking care of oneself.
Daltrey was always a health/fitness nut. And he had Keith Moon in his band to show him what could happen.
Townshend, on the other hand, may be more talented (as a songwriter), but I think he was very lucky making it this far (he'll turn 79 in May). It seems he simply had to try everything that was available to him; plus, I personally feel that I didn't need to read about Mick Jagger's dick "being huge and extremely tasty". (Townshend's obsession with Jagger & the Stones seems borderline unhealthy to me. IMHO he's a million times the songwriter Mick is, and I prefer Daltrey's vocals and microphone swinging over Jagger's fake southern accent & his St. Vitus' dance "moves".)

Is this just music, or is podcasts also allowed?

Joining the vinyl craze and just ordered Alice Cooper’s “Killer” album which I wore out listening to “Halo of Flies” and “Desperado”…. Now if I could only find a copy of “Billion Dollar Babies”…. Man, I remember when you couldn't walk into a second hand record shop and NOT see copies of Billion Dollar Babies - it was the only bright green sleeve! I can't bring myself to dip back into vinyl even though I've got some good equipment if I decided to spend the money on a decent turntable. I still have my late father's walnut based Marantz turntable and Marantz receiver with 165 watts per channel. Both still work, on display and are heavy.

I like the Who alot more than the Stones. So do I. Not even a contest. But the Stones were quite good in the 60s with Brian Jones adding flavor. They were also quite good with Mick Taylor on guitar, even though he wasn't the multi-instrumentalist Jones was. Ron Wood simply does what Jagger & Richards tell him to do, and it shows. Or maybe he's just not as talented as Jones and Taylor.

Read that Brian reached out to the Stones for help but he was rebuffed. I also don't believe Jones death was an accident either.

Who really knows what happened with Anita Pallenberg, who first dated Jones, then Richards and had three kids with him? Maybe Jones' death wasn't an accident. I wouldn't put it past Jagger or Richards. You can find many stories online about the Stones and Jones' departure and what he meant to the band. There are quite a few people who have claimed that both Jagger and Richards were jealous of Jones.
I have asked many women who love the Stones and Jagger to explain to me what makes Jagger so interesting, irresistible, etc., whatever it is. None had a real answer. I think the guy is ugly, and his "moves" on stage are crap, but that's just my opinion.
In 1995 Volkswagen sponsored the European part of the Stones' "Voodoo Lounge" tour, and there was a special edition of the VW Golf (the Golf was called Rabbit in the US):I remember watching a snippet of a press conference Volkswagen held that year announcing the "special edition" on TV, with moneygrubbing Mick and his ever-present ugly smug smirk attending. Jagger remarked condescendingly that he had "no oidea what the coar is loike, Oi moiself droive a Mercedes", which caused the group of VW top brass at the podium to react as if they had all just been bitten by a rattlesnake.
(And in a way, they probably were.) I guess many Stones fans see situations like that one as "that's what rock'n'roll is all about". I disagree, and definitely not respectfully.

There is a really good Bio of Brian Jones on Netflix "Rolling Stone: Life and Death of Brian Jones". It delves into what was happening in Jones life around the time of his death. It argues that Jones’ killer was a man named Frank Thorogood. Reportedly he confessed on his death bed. There were a ton possessions stolen from Jones house the night he died.

This Forum I was googling something last April, 2023. I mis typed and this Bruins Nation Forum popped up. I’m a huge Bs fan so I opened it, read a little, and joined. Didn’t say much, just followed along. Pretty much forgot about it after they got bounced last year. This year I had a O ya moment. Went back on and started posting. I found out pretty fast that this forum is made up of some serious fans who have incredible knowledge and insights. And, the people on it go way back talking hockey and other subjects. I also found out, really fast, that you don’t show up for a Saturday night rental as the new guy to skate with a group that’s been together for 30 years and start blasting slap shots top shelf from the top of the circle. The people on this site weren’t having it. I was knocked down damn fast. But you know, I learned, I’m learning, that there is a protocol here. You gotta earn your stripes before you start blasting away. Anyway, I appreciate and respect the insights, I’m a newbie, no doubt. Been around the sport my entire life. Love the Bs til death. Wrap it up, you guys police this site very well, you have unwritten rules. I respect that and this forum. Thanks for making me into shark chum, as required, teaching me the way. Long way to go for me, but I’m gonna hang in Thank you

Last year was super lucky for me for the bands that came around here to South Florida. Some were better than others. Some were just something to do. Some were fantastic. Some really sucked. Here's my 2023 list. The best was Duran Duran, High Kings, Soul Asylum, Matchbox 20 (don't judge me!) and Crue. The worst were That whole Alice Cooper Rob Zombie show, and surprisingly, Def Lep. Berlin and Howard Jones were fun. Culture Club was probably shit, but as soon as the second song started, "I'll Tumble For Ya", we left. That wasn't for me.
Nov 18, 2023: Sister Hazel, Soul Asylum, Kevn Kinney, MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Event Center, Port Saint Lucie, FL, USA Nov 2, 2023: Zac Brown Band, iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre, West Palm Beach, FL, USA Nov 2, 2023: Sep 29, 2023: Eric Church, Whiskey Myers, iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre, West Palm Beach, FL, USA Aug 27, 2023: Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Filter, Ministry, iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre, West Palm Beach, FL, USA Jul 13, 2023: Culture Club, Howard Jones, Berlin, iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre, West Palm Beach, FL, USA Jul 7, 2023: Matchbox Twenty, iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre, West Palm Beach, FL, USA Jun 18, 2023: Duran Duran, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Bastille, FLA Live Arena, Sunrise, FL, USA Apr 7, 2023: The High Kings, Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center, Davie, FL, USA Mar 12, 2023: Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, Hard Rock Live, Hollywood, FL, USA Feb 3, 2023: The Young Dubliners, Abdo New River Room at the Broward Center, Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA

I've heard that Alice Cooper was good - but "was" refers to at least 25 years ago. Duran Duran, Soul Asylum - wouldn't mind catching one of their shows. Berlin, always had some kind of crush on Terri Nunn. And Howard Jones is underrated IMHO. No Mötley Crüe for me, please. The parts of the "Dirt" movie I endured were more than enough.
