Who is this Jacob Quillan the Bruins are linked to NS kid plays for Quinnipiac UFA. You can see him play Sunday night in the regional finals against BC. You'll be able to see Jellvik and Gasseau, two Bruins prospects as well. No matter now...Elliote Friedman just reported that the filthy Leafs just signed him(Quillan) to a two year entry level contract. Will finish the year with the AHL Marlies.

Poitras last played 9 weeks 4 days ago, not sure date of his surgery. They said out 5 months, which shocked me With his age I figured 4-6 weeks he should definitely be skating and good to go in 8 weeks, then realized cap savings and additions(which we didn’t really get) So 12 weeks would bring us to 2 days after regular season. The problem is , he will not get a game in. Will Monty play a player he didn’t play much in season (injury related who knows) in the playoffs, doubtful.
Poitras brings skill, I would prefer he plays if healthy. He could be our D K

And way more often than not they turn out to be nothing more than just another Jimmy Vesey…. Then again, sometimes you find a rare pearl like Adam Oates….

Ryan Spooner, once considered a mainstay on the PP along the boards...yikes Spooner has been playing in Russia for the last 5 years. He tied for 7th in scoring this season in the KHL. Let this be a reminder when the Bruins sign some guy out of the K because he was a top 10 scorer. All things considered, I think Spooner could have been good in Boston but he was never going to break through Bergeron and Krejci and he wasn't a third line player. 16 points in his first 20 games as a Ranger, but the next year, he lost TOI to Namestnikov and Howden and Chytil and PC came calling. McDavid and Draisaitl and RNH at C, so I don't know where he was expected to play. Think he's a classic example of a tweener who, if he'd found the right situation at the right point in time, could have developed into a useful secondary scorer. But he didn't.

In the world of undrafted NCAA signees, I think of guys like Camper and Acciari and McLaughlin and Merkulov and Nick Wolff and Lindblad and Zech. You kind of have to set your expectations according to that group and not expect they'll all turn out like Torey Krug.

Remember the Wings signing both Oates and this guy Ray Staszak at the same time…. The latter was supposed to be the biggest fish available with many teams in the hunt…. Staszak played a grand total of 4 games in his career and Oates went into the hall of fame….

Start him with March and Pasta, he is creative and does score. Auto cup ...does score...against ECAC goalies. I don't want to rain on the kid. Unless they don't get him and he goes to the Shabs or Rangers. Then screw him! I like the idea of signing this kid. I have no real frame for the NCDC other than assuming that if he was really good, he'd be in the USHL and maybe the NTDP, but he was one of the best scorers on the Jr Bruins as a 16yr old, and then led the team as a 17yr old in a league with 19 and 20 yr olds. In the CHL, that's a pretty good sign, especially when the team is one of the top teams in the league. His first college year, he was pretty much the only 18 yr old on the team and was their second leading scorer. Transferred to Quinnipiac, and has been the leading scorer for the top ECAC team for two straight years despite still being one of the younger guys on the team. Turns 22 in September, which matters in part because he's not a big kid - a buck 70 at 6'. The only consideration in my mind is whether or not you have a contract slot for him. Bruins are at 49/50 after signing Jaxon Nelson today, but they drop all the way to 30 for next year. So there's room. Nelson's the opposite proposition at C. 6'4" and 215 playing out his 5th year and finally putting up some scoring numbers. On the other hand, he DID come through the USHL and I think Minnesota plays a tougher schedule than some eggheads at Hahvahd and Yale.

I want JDB back but I want him to recognize his inconsistency and frustration level he causes his coaches and take a below market deal. He should be 4x4.5 but I'd go 5x5.5 max for him.
