I'll hold off on all the Chara comments swirling around in my mind.

Tinordi sure is, well, he's good at...being 6 feet 6 inches tall.
I remember him getting a lot of hype in the Taylor/Tyler draft. I also remember the experts saying that was gonna be the best draft class since '03. Yeah, not so much.

All I want is a Dman that defends and clears the front of the net...if he can manage that in the slightest, then he's a welcome addition. The offense guys will take care of the rest. We'll see.

Hal Gill was a specialist, brought in specifically to play Jagr and the Pens. Tinordi may just have been signed to beat up on Carlo during B's practices, try to toughen him up.
Also, you forgot Dougie in that list of big, soft d-men.

I bought a box of thin mints from someone tougher than Hal Girl. What is it with the B's and big, soft Dmen? From Hal Girl to Brenda Carlo. Somewhere, jenny is enraged and doesn't know why. Carlo wasn't soft last year. I thought he took a huge step last year in terms of how much snarl he brought to his game. I think the problem this year is that he has to think about it to be that guy, and he's too busy thinking about how he can be a PMD and get paid. Consider that when they were both up for new deals, Carlo got $2.85M and Fataboy got $4.9M. I know if I was the more experienced, bigger defender I would see the TOI and points totals as having cost me about $2M a year.

Brenda and Yvonne I think guess-starred on Laverne & Shirley.

He's obviously been really good, and he was a lot tougher last year. But not this year. Lots of mistakes, and not a lot of toughness that I've seen. If he would just develop a mean streak, I'd take the hiccups. Maybe I should call him Ferdinand instead of Brenda? Regardless, I'm betting Jenny still lurks some - I'm expecting a nasty private message!!

Regardless, I'm betting Jenny still lurks some - I'm expecting a nasty private message!! I don't know... I'm not sure I need him to be "nasty" just not "tough as pudding." McAvoy isn't Darth Quaider or 28-year old Chara, but he's tough and plays a strong, physical game. I think Hal Gill comparisons with Carlo '21 are appropriate. Not a bad player at all, has his strengths, but easier to push around than he should be. I'm sure part of that is expectations, but regardless of his edgework, he needs to be stronger than he has been. Book's comment is probably spot on, too.... Carlo has been more involved, and his shooting has improved (last year I'm not sure he even got 10% of his shots on net)... maybe he just needs to get back to basics on the back end and let the offense come to him as it may, rather than forcing the issue and sacrificing his defensive performance.

Not impressed with Tinordi at all. Looks slow and wins the award for "most likely to blindly throw puck up the boards" for our defensemen

As I mentioned in the game thread, I liked the fact that Tinordi seemed to be pretty good at getting the puck to the net - or at least past the first couple of defenders - from the point.
But I held my breath when he was on the ice and the Caps had the puck in the B's end.

I seriously wonder why hainsey hasnt been approached. Big, solid in his end, leader...not fast...but i always found he played a nice sinple game.
