I could see the Scabs making a side deal with the Kraken for Lauzon, Seattle is overloaded with LD. I sure as hell hope they don't as that would be a nightmare. Plus he’d fill a need for a québécois….

Plus he’d fill a need for a québécois…. You bet. If Danault leaves Montreal has no French born players on their roster, a no go and a sin as far as the politicians and media are concerned and lets be honest they run the team. Jeremy is a born and raised Quebecois and plays LD, physical, all things that fit what Montreal needs. Lets hope Jay Leach tells Francis he's a keeper.

Krakers appear to be either planning some deals, or to have some in their back pockets (I guess we'll know more as the next few days unfold). I was a bit surprised that nearly half of their picks went to D and Goalers...

Glad to see you back after TB thunderstruck the Shabs….

I would argue that Lauzon is younger than Cherryrot, Edmunster & Koolack, who knows what Romanov will be, he hardly played in the playoffs.

I think there are a couple interesting things here for us Bruin fans. First, one had to look with considerable interest, to even find out who Seattle took from the Bruins. It just isn't very newsworthy. And two, the consensus here, was that Lauzon would be the guy. It was anything but a consensus from the folks covering hockey for a living.
We have a pretty solid group of hockey minds around here.

I hate that I have to be reminded every night for the next 7 years how much I fucking despise ESPN.j I'm already pining for Kathryn, Liam, Sharpie, Jonesie, Ace, Forslund, Bouchie, and yes, even Pierre. The idea of watching the slick backed corpse of Barry Melrose instead of Kathryn is crushing to me apparently these are the analysts: Mark Messier (truly a face made for radio), Chris Chelios, Ray Ferraro, Brian Boucher, Cassie Campbell-Pascall, Kevin Weekes, Ryan Callahan, A.J. Mleczko, Rick DiPietro and Hilary Knight. ESPN (Endless Sucking Programming Nutbags). Why not put the icing on the shit cake and bring back mega a-hole Oberman and Len (squirmin) Berman.

Echoing a bit the other thread about suck ass hockey coverage, the Bruins primary hockey coverage is Fluto (he must have another FT job because he sucks), Haggs, Jimmy Murphy and DJ Bean and I guess Dupont when he comes out of his coma once or twice a year. I guarentee 90% of us on this board have better instincts than any of those useless fools and with a little more "access" would crush they job. It's an embarrassment to a hockey market.

Aside from toughness there wasn't much there.

That team name was created wholly as a sideline to the joke about Ben Dover and Phil McKracken.

We have a pretty solid group of hockey minds around here. It was shocking to me the unsure, undecided take the pro writers took to who the Bs would lose. Thats why I was (kinda) joking about Fluto insisting in the Athletic, all 60 bucks a month of it, that Clifton was the guy because he was trying to misdirect Seattle from Lauzon, at the Bruins’ behest. An article nearly every day, it was so wrong it looked suspicious rather than clueless.

An article nearly every day, it was so wrong it looked suspicious rather than clueless. I think writers are looking for stories more than reporting these days. More cache in being right when you’re the only guy saying the Kraken will take Clifton - and really doubling down on it so that it looks like you predicted it based on sage hockey thinking - than saying what everyone could glean from a short perusal of the likely list of unprotected players. As Steve said, there was no news in them taking Lauzon, but there was a lot of difference of opinion before it happened.

I'm sure that was a factor (not sure how big, but a factor) in keeping Gryz over Lauzon.

The way Seattle approached the unprotected, I got the feeling they did not want to pick up contracts, and I think Gryz would not have been selected. Would have been Clifton had the B's held on to Lauzon.

I don't think he was sucking on penis of any species, but he did break his hand, and re-injure it in the playoffs. If that doesn't happen, good chance he's protected or leaving right now. He was playing with CMac up until that point. There was a stretch where Lauzon was a beast, at least about 30 games straight where he was carrying an edge, physical and shutdown. Then he got injured and never recaptured that part of his game. The difference between him and Zboril is Zboril flat out lost his job, sucked, regressed. The difference between him and Clifton is one upped his game--Cliffy Hockey--defensively overall while Lauzon seemed to lose some confidence. And still the fact remains that if you already have a Gryz who is a small d, you can't really carry too many of the smaller guys--Clifton unfortunately gets torched by guys with speed/skill and who are frankly just taller players, they tend to go around him. Lauzon has a great future, one that would turn him into a decade-long at least NHL d guy. I don't want to lose him. His upside is tremendous. what the fuck do I know...fuccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccck! The guy leads the league in hits and has ONE less goal scored than 73/27 combined.....uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugh.
Many guys were also saying Lauzon should have been protected, including moogie and 50 (and others).
