Also John Wensink should get an A for being an absolute lunatic...Milbury gets an A too for bringing a shoe. Lemelin did the pump at the ERA night...A for him too Brickley-A, sure always is lucid when poor Jack was not...except my hated line of all time from his "...on first blush" Unless Brick can demonstrate that he's a tea connoisseur and understands where that term comes from and what it means, he shouldn't use it.

No #DannyPanic you aren't giving Grzelcyk a better grade than fORRbort. Nor can you Lindholm a B just cause of a late surge. His offense gets a straight up D.
1st year rookie grades. Poitras and Beecher compared to other Frosh Bs have recently tried to move from Providence ? Much better. 1st year rooks get a better than C grade from me.
Lauko has been the best young agitator 4th liner since Sobotka. Think he deserves a better grade. LoL, nice list!

Lindholm 11 assists last 15 games (late surge and his defense, don't forget he had a stretch with 73 out (suspension) and Carlo out (concussion)...Look I'm as big as a critical person on 27 as ANYONE maybe more than anyone in here...but you can't deny his 20 to 24 minutes a night is just as important to the B's winning as anyone else. Sorry, he earned the B. Lauko hasn't really done a lot, got in a fight or two, scored a goal, and sure he's thrown some checks, but he also has been out there on some of the extended zone time of other teams...he just seems to have some bells/whistles that others don't--but I like the Sobotka comparison--he still adds some spark on the 4th line. Just not B to me. Poitras and Beecher are both disappointments. Both came with some idea that they might be playing the whole season and be regular parts of the B's. It started out that way and then realistically both have fallen. Poitras should have made more of a difference on offense--when is a 19 or 20-year old going to do that for B's when we've seen other teams get this from some guys? Potsy also has been soft at times and other times empty space on shifts. Beecher was outstanding it seemed first 10 games, he was a faceoff guy, a PK guy, and then he just became a healthy scratch and it was too much to keep him on the roster for Monty...that is not higher than C material. Forbort can't get a B for missing as much as he has this season. He also is still injury prone.

I didn't except the doom and gloom of many this season, since most of the team was back and last year's team was the best ever. Yeah, Bergie and DK were gone, but 7/9 top scorers were back, as was the D and G, and they brought in some interesting players. I was thinking top 5-10 and in contention. So first overall is definitely exceeding expectations. Without giving letter grades, some thoughts: Coyle - I didn't know he had it in him. He really is playing high level hockey, consistently. The elevation in his game from 20-goal, 40-point guy to a 30/60+ type player is one of the biggest reasons they are where they are. Zacha - He has Krejci Syndrome in that he's boring. But he is good and plays both ends of the rink well. Not gonna dazzle you or put up massive numbers, but he is good. JVR - wow, talk about delivering with best case scenario results. Maybe even better bang for buck than PB and DK last year, without the penalty down the road. Geekie - again best case scenario where you see a guy excelling in a small role and hope that projects the same with more minutes. Swayman, Carlo - these guys are hitting the prime of their careers, and we're seeing the results Pooter - the story early, his role has been greatly reduced and I don't like that. That said, he's hurt his shoulder 3 times now and you can't argue with the results they've gotten from going with a bigger lineup. He's the future though, and takes away pressure to find a long-term C option. Reminds me of a young Adam Oates. Beecher - He should be playing. Was the top FO guy. I don't know what's up there, the other options haven't been better. LoLo - His skating reminds me of Scott Niedermeyer, his puck skills are great and he's 6'5". A bit frustrating watching him in Prov with Gryz in the lineup. Future #1 or 2D. Pasta - it's weird how even in Bruins Nation many don't seem to realize just how good this guy is. Most goals in the League since the start of last season. Literally the top goal scorer in the NHL, playing for our team. You had me until... "He has Krejci Syndrome in that he's boring."? DK? The guy who lead the Bruins to the Cup. DK, won 2 playoff scoring titles? DK, who does obscene moves and creates out of nothing? Like the double toe drag? I am now off to the Church of #46. I might cry.

They all get A+ for being an amazing team that we all were seriously wondering if they might be fighting to make the playoffs. I certainly didn't see this coming. But A++++ to Ullmark and Swayman. A++ to the D Everybody else - A+ c to Zacha for being boring.

Lindholm's defense alone should get him an A, so I assumed the B was an A for D and a C for O if UC what I mean. Lauko fits in with the rest of the players who get less than 10 a night. Do they have any positive impact in that limited period of time? Well, there's precisely one player who plays under 10 min a night and who has 10 points or more - AJ Greer (ironically). And Do they get exposed in terms of goals against? Lauko is the 7th highest scoring player who plays under 10 min., but he has the 7th worst plus minus (out of 35). He's middle of the pack in hits and bottom of the pack in blocked shots, but has decent giveaway to takeaway ratio in that he doesn't turn it over a lot. So...C? In terms of what you can reasonably expect from a guy playing minimal minutes? Beecher is also top 3rd in points for the minutes he plays, but he's 11th worst in +/-. Not many actual players have worse numbers than he does and half are the last of the goons - Reeves, Duhaime, and Deslauriers in particular. Beechers top 25% in FO but that's mostly because not all of these guys are C. He's 9th among 24 C. Some of these guys are recognized faceoff specialists. He's 31st of 60 in hits/60, but is one of the best on the list in blocking shots and has almost a 1:2 give:takeaway ratio. Again, hard to say he's the bomb, but...he's also not standing out among the also rans on this list.

Forbort can't get a B for missing as much as he has this season. He also is still injury prone. "Derek Forbort We’re not talking about a Norris Trophy caliber defenceman in Forbort. Like him or not, Forbort can take some of those hard minutes from Lindholm, much like Brandon Carlo does for Charlie McAvoy on the right side. It had a major impact, and not in a good way, on Lindholm. It is no coincidence that Lindholm’s improved play has come when a surprising Wotherspoon has been capable of taking some of those minutes from Lindholm and the return of Forbort. At 5v5 hockey, when healthy, Forbort has been on the ice for 72.4% of defensive zone draws. Wotherspoon has taken over 69.2% and the balance has gone to Lindholm. For comparison sake, McAvoy has been on the ice for 41.7% while Carlo has been on the ice for 77.4%. When Wotherspoon wasn’t in the lineup, the disparity gets larger. The Bruins need Lindholm to be at his best and for that to happen they need to alleviate some of those hard minutes he’s being forced to handle." There is a reason Lindholm numbers went up. He got some relief from surprising help in Wotherspoon. Lindholms numbers went up because Monty started sheltering him. Not being used in done zone starts. Poitras and Beecher score points just making the team. Even a higher grade for staying in the lineup. If Steen, Bo and Lauko could go through waivers Beecher would be in the lineup. Monty gave up his best FO % in dzone starts with Beecher.

Monty gave up his best FO % in dzone starts with Beecher. good points San

I never graded Zacha...LOL....B- Quite the turnaround as a few games before your grades. Zacha was KaKa on a couple of GDTs as far as you were concerned.

Agreed, I was all over him and I still feel like I was right, but with that said, there's that perspective thing, the B's with only 9 regulation losses, and he's the best faceoff guy and probably one of the better defensive forwards on the team. You could argue C+ too, I feel like I want more out of him, but then that's selfish I bet if you look at it from bookthey's pretty correct point of view...*gryz still sucks*
