The Caps suck, was quite a feat to even make the playoffs but they aren't good enough, deep enough or have the tending to beat the Rags. The Rags Canes series is going to be good, reeeeeaaalllll goooood!

Freddy thinks he's Bob like now. If he played like this all year instead of disappearing for "heart issues" i probably win the BNFHL, right?

There was a real separation between the good n bad teams in the Eastern Conference.

Funky playoffs this year. 3-0 in every series but Bruins v Laffs in the East. Vegans pulling their cap F**kyf**k again. Jets being the Jets - how in the hell do people keep talking about Hellabucyk as a Hart contender when he gets roasted every year in the playoffs? Eventually, aren't you just embarrassing him? And DeBoer teams...typical. Poor Joe Pavelski.

I guess he's been considered for the Hart based on regular season stats. As far as being considered for the Conn Smythe so far in his career.....um no.

The Stars better win tonight or they're done like dinner, no way they're coming back from a 0-3 hole, the curse of Popsicle Pete will rear it's ugly head again.

Shouldn’t be disappointed if he’s living up to his performances of the last few years…. Not only is Duboy eating a big slice of cap space but he cost the Kings a few good pieces…. Really like the Villardi guy…. Worst yet is word that he’s not exactly the most popular guy on the team…. That sounds like a strikeout….

Rempe elbows another person in the head and puts him out. Funny, Chara was taller yet never elbowed anyone nearly as much and played 20 more mins a night.
What a shitsack that guy is.

And DeBoer teams...typical. Poor Joe Pavelski. Blame the league, not the Vegans…. They did what any team’s permitted to do…. This Vegas crap is getting real old…. Go Butch! That's the Eliotte Friedman take. The league seems to be fine with it, so what's the problem? I think the problem, though, is the optics and ultimately a form of cap circumvention. The LTIR and injury process is a black box. And injuries are tough to predict. The league is apparently being more strict about LTIR return dates and reporting but I have no idea what that means. Are independent doctors and examining players to see if the team physicians are cooking the books? Would that even matter if the player has no motivation to come back as early as possible and possibly an actual disincentive. "Hey, Mark, if you tell the doctor that you still have pain and ither symptoms up until the end of the season, I think we can add Hertl and Hanafin. What do you think?" So much of recovery is how hard the patient works and what he reports for pain and difficulties. Hard to rely on them to be 100% truthful in a world where cheating is trying. So a team that seems to have this happen repeatedly allowing them to add players they would never have had room to add, doubt will be highly corrosive. And cap. This is the league that punished the Devils for a legal contract because it violated the spirit if the Cap. This clearly violates the spirit, and teams have been going even further when they acquire players who are retired just so they can push their allowable Cap exemption higher. LTIR is supposed to make sure your season doesn't go to hell because of key injuries. Now it means your season has gone to hell becauae you didn't have any key injuries you could exploit. Too far. And this is on Vegas and the league. Every team knows you can do this. Few choose to really lean in on it because it's sketchy. Vegas Chose to be sketch town a long time ago.

He can't defend himself in a fight. Someone is going to hold him up after knocking him goofy and take the extra two or three to make sure he gets to sit in a dark room and think about his choices.

Here's hoping he does it soon because he has already injured half a dozen people with head injuries. The league needs to grow a pair and make an example out of him.

The thing with LTIR use as a way of trading for players at the deadline and being able to fit them under the cap is this, the league would look into it. I can't believe a team at the pro level would be allowed to just pick a player with a high cap hit and make up an injury, the NHL wouldn't allow it, medical records would have to be produced. Where it gets sketchy and there's no way to prove otherwise is recovery time, that's a gray area for sure. How can the league prove a player is ready before the team says he is. As far as Stone's injury, recovery time for a lacerated spleen is between 2 to 3 months, Stone going on LTIR Feb 20th, playoffs started April 20th, so that's 2 months which is in the recovery time spectrum. We can hate it all we want but it's by the rules of the NHL. Can the league come out and say , no way Vegas Stone was ready a week earlier!! I doubt it.

1-1 canes and Isles.
NY just refuse to die. Full effort form then which is impressive.

The Intent of the LTIR rule is to make things fair if there was an injury. It is not to give advantage to a team who has a timely injury in order to gain a player for the stretch run and bolster the team for the playoffs. No one seems to want to move the TDL to January. So make it simple, before each game in the playoffs a team must be compliant to the CAP. The injury happening in November with recovery in March is not fair in that any player the team trades for has be CAP compliant. It is not same for each team. Mark Stone is a perpetual add a player every year. Fuck Vegas....
