March, 27 1974: The Boston Bruins become the first team in NHL history to win 50 or more games in four straight seasons when they defeat the Rangers 3-2 at Madison Square Garden. Damn, shoulda won more cups back then...stupid Dryden Bobby Orr said the same thing - not about Dryden being stupid but about the Bruins winning more Cups. He's right.

1999: Wayne Gretzky says goodbye to the NHL as only he can.
Before a packed house at Madison Square Garden, Gretzky earns the 2,857th and final point of his NHL career, an assist in the New York Rangers' 2-1 overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins in their final game of the season.
1987: Pat LaFontaine's goal at 68:47 of overtime gives the New York Islanders a 3-2 victory against the Washington Capitals in Game 7 of the Patrick Division Semifinals in Landover, Maryland. The game starts on Saturday night and lasts into the early hours of Sunday morning, becoming known as the "Easter Epic." Islanders goaltender Kelly Hrudey makes 73 saves before LaFontaine's turnaround slap shot from just inside the blue line whizzes past a screened Bob Mason for the win. Those of you who haven't seen this game? You're missing a beauty--One of the best games ever & probably the best 1 game where both goalies shined.

May 21st Jonathan switches hands and blows up Bouchard's face. I wish i could give this a thumbs up 2x! My favourite scrap of all time! I have a DVD of 2 hrs of Bruins hockey fights & I bet there's at least on six different occasions that another Bruins goes to step in for Stanley, but Stan goes & does it himself. In this one it's Taz (he tries to step in for Stan in at least 2 other fights), but there's two others with Bridgman & Dupont that Weinsink & Schmautz try to fight for Stan. The one with Dupont is another one where Bulldog switches hands & that turns the fight around in Stans favor. There's another where Detroit brings up a guy by the name of Hilworth who goes after Jonathan & is as big as Bouchard is Hilworth gets utterly destroyed in seconds. Him & Domi are pretty much tied when it comes to best lbs for lbs fighters I ever seen.

The greatest Montreal Canadien killer of all time! The only time in history where the B's dominated the Canadien's in the playoffs. Patrick Roy's worst nitemare & he even admitted that himself.

October 24, 1960
Mrs. Julien just got home from running errands. She had Lil Claude in one arm and a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken in the other arm. As soon as she opened the door, she heard the phone ringing. She put Lil Claude and the bucket of KFC down on the floor to answer the phone. She never gave it a second thought because Lil Claude was only six months old at the time and she assumed he couldn't open a KFC bucket. She returned to the home's entrance after about five minutes and couldn't believe her eyes. Not only had Lil Claude been able to open the bucket, he had eaten all the chicken. There was a pile of bones next Lil Claude. This was his first time eating solid food. He loved KFC so much that from that point on, he refused to eat anything else.

Mad Mike just wanted a shoe. I think some fan grabbed a stick as well, might have been O'Reilly's.

Esposito said he and Cheesy were already in the hallway between dressing rooms drinking beers when the fight broke out.

I remember watching this game on a 1970s tiny Hitachi at my Uncles in Burlington. The beginning of the insane run by the Islanders.
