Holy Shite there are so many artists/songs listed on here that made me want to go listen to that stuff. There's also so crap, but to each his own. Then there's a bunch of stuff from people I've never even heard of (mostly from henry and book) probably to my own discredit. So I'll pick a few and do some listening.
Last couple of marathon playings of anything for me were a compilation of big band stuff, mostly from the 40's, and Ennio Morricone's soundtrack from the Good the Bad and the Ugly. I just let it go while I'm working sometimes. Depends on my mood, but stuff like that is a good backdrop.
Just had iTunes on shuffle earlier today and here a sample of what it gave me: A Clean Pair of Eyes - David Gray The Lady Don't Mind - Talking Heads I guess I Showed Her - Robert Cray Johnstown (live version) - Springsteen Fever - Peggy Lee Any Time At All - Beatles Wanted Man - Johnny Cash Driver 8 - REM Summer Wind - Sinatra Guns of Brixton - Clash She's a Runaway - BoDeans Walt Whitman's Niece - Billy Bragg and Wilco (Album is Memaid Avenue - a collection of previously unreleased Woody Guthrie stuff) Deliver Me - Blue Shadows (Canadian band form the 90's featuring Bill Cowsill. Yes, of the Cowsills when he was a kid) Blame it on Me - George Ezra Rave On - Buddy Holly Macy's Day Parade - Green Day Radio Radio - Elvis Costello Mission of Mercy - The Motels Are You Looking at Me? - Colin Hay All at Sea - Jamie Cullum Ruby - Kaiser Chiefs
RIP BB!

Good choice. My wife is actually related to Rommel! lol Interesting. She is German then I presume? Yep. English and Polish as well. Rommel is a great, great uncle. She likes to point out that he was NOT a Nazi and in fact, was done in by Nazis.

In fact, he was forced to commit suicide by Hitler after evidence proved he was sympathetic to the group that attempted to assassinate Adolf in July of 1944.

Today was some listening to Doc Watson which a couple of you "people" mentioned earlier. I've heard of him of course but have never listened to him on purpose. Until today. I'm glad I did...I'll be listening to more of his stuff for sure.
Also, been listening to Seasick Steve a bit. Interesting dude...was a studio musician way back and a bit of a hobo. Went to Europe and somehow ended up on Jools Holland's show in the mid 2000's and became a hit in the UK at age 60-something. Played at Glastonbury and stuff. Even got to be on Top Gear! He's gained a bit of popularity back here more recently.
