To look at this game as a "loss" is what's wrong with the NHL...this was a great game for B's to rally and earn that point. I'm ok with just getting a point. Carlo was out. playing short handed for the last 6 minutes of the game. You gotta score on the PP in OT though. Pasta playing with his head up his ass.So skilled but so dumb sometimes. Pasta was gassed. Everyone could see it. Montgomery should have put Freddy or Coyle on the first PP unit, or Geekie. I know they are not your go-to guys to score, but Pasta had absolutely nothing left in the tank. It's probably the thin air (no, I'm not joking).

Sometimes with Pasta. Fuck he is so sloppy with the puck. He was "totally knackered". Probably the thin air.

Let them play some OT and shootout. I'm totally fine with that.the problem is that it doesn't translate to postseason...it dictates postseason, meaning all of these loser and winner points are helping or hurting teams from making or not making playoffs. Then when you are in the playoffs, that's when it's back to real hockey. NBA doesn't play 3 on 3 OT, NFL doesn't play flag football (college OT is another joke) in the OT, and MLB putting players on 2nd base has ruined the extra innings too. Bottom line, it's not hockey and it's not NHL hockey...it's a gimmick, and I'll remain in the minority, but I would have been extremely happy to see the B's and Avs have a 3-3 tie and know that it was a great game by both--deserving of 1 point for both. 4 weeks from now someone is going to refer to this game as a B's loss, and I didn't think this game at all resembled a B's loss.

You want your best player out there but he was clearly done. Monty has to recognize that.

Sway, look I know he stopped the 2 superstars, but jeez, he always seems to be the losing goalie in these things...he was responsible for keeping the point with a great 3rd, but I still feel I'd rather have Ullmark with game on the line. Just stop! If the playoffs started tomorrow. JM would be starting Swayman. He's the one that's in the running for the Vezina right now. Not Linus!

That was a fun game, and the usual invasion of black and gold in Denver. The B's looked kind of sloppy and perhaps a little tired, but a point on the road blah blah blah....
My observations from the game: -Almost all Bruin chances seemed to come from Coyle and Marchand. They were really good. -That might be the worst game I am ever seen Pasta play, excluding his rookie season where he fell down all the time. He was awful. Stumbling through counter attacks, tons of turnovers, and the penalty shot looked like a 8 year old at stick and puck. I understand the sneaky early shot from your skates, but that wasn't even shot hard. A 30 mph shuffler. I though he wasted a lot of time on the OT powerplay, not creating any chances or getting space for a shot. He looked hungover or unable to deal with the altitude. -Grizz and Wotherspoon both looked really bad too. Wotherspoon could not figure out how to get rid of the puck and made some terrible D-zone turnovers trying. 21 minutes on ice is too much for Grizz and they miss Carlo's usual minutes. It seemed like Nichuskin and Rantanen were posting up in the crease, on top of Swayman, with very little resistance. -I thought Beecher had a good game. I was very close to that hit on Toews and you could hear it. Toews was wincing the rest of the shift. MacDermid was screaming at Beecher from the Avs bench, because, you know, you can't throw a clean hit out there. Anyhow, Beecher played well. He can skate. -Why do they have Geekie taking the powerplay faceoff instead of Zacha? -Poitras looked pretty good. Steen just really looks like an AHL hustle guy to me. Nothing more. -Swayman was good. Under duress a little too much.

Colorado played 5 guys--superstars--nearly 30 minutes...double-shifting...B's got a point in a game where Avs were desperate to play better (after 8 goal embarrassment v. Florida) and Avs even said it was their most complete game all season...and the B's got a point...and did I mention that the Avs employing this type of tactic against 5 defensemen in 3rd period/OT THAT INCLUDED GRYZ, WOTHERSPOON...did I mention the B's earned a point?

Been a fan of #29, but he was awful in this game and no comment on Gryz, who still can play transition hockey but is overmatched by better forwards in his own zone. He is scared to pinch--48--why? he knows he will get burnt and he does. Zacha can't seem to get involved offensively, yet is better on faceoffs..Geekie gets involved offensively often and can't win faceoff..enigma. But also a reminder that B's acquisition target has to be a faceoff center.

Everybody desperate to get rid of Ullmark and laud Swayman, but Ullmark isn't giving up these bad goals at bad times. Stfu

They might have to rearrange the order of shootouts. Debrusk and maybe pasta should drop a few spots

They might have to rearrange the order of shootouts. Debrusk and maybe pasta should drop a few spots DeBrusk (34.6) & Coyle (40%) have the best shootout % on the team. Marchand is 20% for his career, Zacha 12.5% & Pasta 25%, but trending upwards. JVR would be an option (28.6%), but he wasn't available, or even ShatnerKirk (35.7%). Montgomery didn't realize that Pasta was cooked last night. He left him out there in OT for the entire PP, like he's the only guy who can score. The team played well, apart from the constant problems on transition, but the coach went to bed early, again.

Mackinnon and Rantanen..these guys are ridiculously great. Probably out for the rest of the season but Landeskog no slouch as well.

And who's the moron doing the pa announcing for the Avs? Did he have too much carbon dioxide in his soda? Or is he trying to sound like Johnny Weissmueller's Tarzan?
Damn -- it finally hit me -- had the Jack feed last night but Sirius NHL has that annoying jerk on one of their commercial runs with that cracking voice on a goal.
