On the trade front, Bs management was spotting the Calgary Flamers in Boston last night.

I'm not going to overreact to that game. Put it in the rear view mirror and get ready for the Nucks. yeah...there's lots of good stuff. I don't think we can question their cohesiveness anymore. obviously there's a ton of "chemistry". these fekers musta "all' spent the last 10 days holed up in the same tiki bar, smoking from the same pipe, and drilling the same 2 hookers. they're young. the intoxicants will all exit the blood stream within the next few days. as long as they don't break any bones....I dunno...brushing their teeth...they should bounce back. the next 48 hrs is critical, and they all need a constant monitor. don't know I've ever watched a team, so obviously incapable of coming to work.

Today's subpar stars: Carlo sucked, Forbort sucked, Geekie sucked, Lauko awful, Steen terrible, Boqvist really sucked, Too Many Men with a full PP left sucked, so coaches sucked, Pasta All-Star Hangover mostly sucked, the fans sucked, Admin1 sucked, I sucked, the popcorn guy sucked, Jack really sucked and was a laughing hyena and unable to spit out a goal scorer...just fucked sucked all night...on to Vancouver I hate it when people suppress their feelings and don’t tell us how they really feel. Can somebody tell us if and how Ullmark sucked last night? Was he the one who opened the door to create the too many men penalty?

Edwards set the tone with his garbled words first 10 minutes...makes Faust look like Dan Kelly Was it just my partial hearing loss or did he actually say “Marksman” made the save?

Apparently it looks like i lucked out. I was busy for this game so i DVR'ed it but won't waste my time after seeing the box score and reading the GDT, haha. So other than the B's sucking the hind teet, how did Hanifan look to you that watched? Is he worth picking up for a reasonable price? Top 4 d-men usually don’t get picked up for reasonable prices…. And especially not at this time of year…. Unless Donnie’s willing to move a top prospect or two, or another first rounder, you can forget about Hanifin….

Umph. Watched it on delay. Awful.
I don't even think they deserved the game misconduct call on Pospisil, regardless of Marchand's blood trickle. The goalie had it unquestionably covered and the whistle blew, while Marchand takes two blatant hacks at the guy's gloves. You'd want any defensemen to bury him there. Maybe it was a cross check, but it looked more like a glove punch to the face to me.

I kept saying this...why does Monty make such poor moves...All-Star Game, Ullmark is ready to go...give him the start..Sway has All-Star Hangover Alternatively, Ullmark is like the other 20 guys out there who looked like hot garbage because they got back from Veradero at 2am on Sunday and still weren't legal to drive to practice Monday given their blood alcohol content. At least Swayman and Pasta had to work. They got Lumberged I didn't see this one, caught the high lites/lowlites this morning, but did see marchy took one high in front of the net and Jakey Poo came right in with his gloves high!

Amazing how even professional athletes with a week off can look so rusty. They could not make a pass, and when they did, they couldn't handle it. Marchand esoecially, he fought the puck the whole night.

Marchand esoecially, he fought the puck the whole night. Absolutely. I've thought about that plenty over the years. We often times over value "talent". We think we just don't have enough raw ability to do big things. I've played with amazing players, who lace em up twice a week, and pack their gear away for 6 months a year. Imagine the difference if you're on the ice every day for 8 months, then 3 or 4 times a week the rest of the time. Imagine if they had the icetime, coaching and access to nutrition and professional advice. Whether it's sport or music...art or academics...most people have it in em to get to a somewhat meaningful advanced level. If they work hard and smart enough. Another example of all the good stuff we saw last night......

Hanifin has leverage if Calgary wants something instead of nothing this summer. Think of the Hall situation in Buffalo. Calgary really isn't in a position to "Pat Verbeek" Sweeney.

PeeUooo Puhstinky! That was hard to watch. I hope they were rightfully embarrassed by that abomination. I think the other teachable moment last night, is the importance of the other half of the show. We tend to put 90% of our focus on the Bruins. The Flames were absolutely awesome though. That's just reality 101. They were rabid dogs, that generally executed to a T. The margins are razor thin, but they sure thicken up when one team performs to their absolute ceiling, and one's still in the shit house. The Flames will win a lot of games when they play that hard and that disciplined executionally. Reality is...it's not reality to expect it consistently. That's why over the long haul, actual talent...usually prevails, and it's why they invented playoffs to counter the expected. Last night was a Bruin disaster. So much, it's just something to laugh about. Little to be taken from it. Wasn't a 2-1 game well into the 3rd. It was a 12-1 game. But the Flames deserve a ton of credit. IMO, about the same amount of credit, as the B's deserve contempt. We all show up bleary eyed and hung over, once in a while. I'm sure the requisite message has been sent. Onward and upward.

Yeah, I'll take nothing away from The Flames. They played great. Sticks in every B's passing lane, forechecking, backchecking, collapsing in front of the goalie, crisp breakouts, and no fumble-puck hockey. Full marks. It was a perfect storm.

Think of the Hall situation in Buffalo. Calgary really isn't in a position to "Pat Verbeek" Sweeney. Not quite the same situation. Hall had a full NMC so he could say "I'll only go to Boston". Hanifin has an 8 team NMC. He can absolutely make it clear that he's not signing an extension with anyone and will test the [Boston] Market in the summer, and that will tank the return Conroy can get, but that's still not going to bring the cost to acquire him into the Anders Bjork and a 2 as long as they throw in Blake Coleman. Teams will pay to rent Hanifin; Florida paid a 1st to rent Chiarot FFS.

Great. Didn't stop them from continuing to take liberties including Marchand taking another stick in the kisser. Game started to get some spirit to it toward the end, but everyone's gloves must have been glued to their fingers. Some nobody the Flames picked up on waivers or whatever was running around trying to establish himself in that lineup all night. Jakey Poo's high gloves didn't slow him down for a second. Game was over when Swayman said this was a good time to give up one of his quota of stinkers for the year (every goalie is issued a quota at the beginning of camp by the NHLGoalies Association...). No one looked at that as a moment where the stakes are low in terms of winning this game, so maybe time to show that if you run around in Boston, you won't be running for a while. Nope. Misconducts. A roughing call. If your team isn't going to back up the bravado of Jakey Poo going in hot in reaction to a high stick or cross check with something more than mean words, it means nothing to me. It's for show.

Watching the goals again and boy are they stinky.
Kuzmenko goal is a 3 on 2 off the rush while the Bruins are on the kill because Heinen releases a guy before it dawns on him that there are already two guys deeper. Canucks execute the pass and score.
Zary goal is a 3 on 2 off the rush because Marchand turns it over in the offensive zone and the forward group looks gassed trying to come back. Canucks execute and it's a goal.
Huberdeau takes the puck from McAvoy like he's not even paying attention and rips it past Swayman. Three Bruins lose the puck to Huberdeau and Kadri.
Hanifin goes end to end on the rush and Sway gives up a cheapie.
The funny thing here is that the Flames dominated the Bruins in zone for most of the night, but the Bruins managed to keep the puck out. It was the odd man rush chances where largely the forwards failing to do anything to help the D led to goals.

My schadenfreude was aroused when i noticed that the Panthers & Canes both lost, and TO did the other night so all is not rotten! Don't worry, be happy, goodnight!! The Loaf fan crying post game videos outside of the arena were hilarious, Fif. Pretty much ran through the alphabet in their sorrow.
