Chucky makes Kane look like the douchebag he is, and JDB doesn't have to do pushups. Why is Kane a douchebag exactly? I'd take that guy on my team any fucking day! Been a huge fan since the night he punched the fuck out of Cooke & always will be! Boston are morons for not getting him! That was a classic beat down. Something we were all hoping for from his legendary cheap shot. I’d take Kane any day on the B’s but the day he attacked Chara from behind and regretted it was a fun day as well.

Boston are morons for not getting him! You don't hear anything shitty about him with the Oilers, nite. I did like his jawing back and forth with Ryan Reaves years ago. Had zero fear of that guy. I think they fought, too. When he was younger, he did look like a wanna be punk ass for posing with stacks of money. He's 32 now. Maybe matured some. But him nailing Matt Pussy on the button was brilliant. Kane is tough and can score. Today's Kane reminds me of Rodman with the Bulls. Messed up so many times he was nearing the point of no one in the League touching him, but here's an elite team with the best players in the world who could use exactly what heoffers. I remember a story about MJ telling Denis he basically had one chance, and if he did anything out of line all he had to do was say the word and his career was over. Kane's already gone bankrupt and had his name through the mud, but here's a chance to make a retirement fund while playing with the best player in the world. If he ruffles any feathers in the locker room or in the media, the dream job is gone. He's smart enough to keep things in check and play hockey. I don't know if there's another scenario that would have worked out as well for him.

Now let's do "all he does his win win win" +/- when Grzelcyk isn't paired with McAvoy. Minus- 2 with Carlo and Wotherspoon. Eye test says Lohrei never needed Providence. And he adds much more physically. And hits aren't the measurement. He's harder to handle in the corners than Win Win Win. Then you need your eyes checked. He was not the same player his last 10 games in Boston as he was in his first 4-5 or last night. I saw a young player who was giving up way too much ice, especially on the rush, and he was getting lost in coverage as well as struggling to clear the puck in much the same way he couldn't take advantage of opportunities in that 3 minute shift at the end of the second last night. Even so, I agree that he didn't need to be sent down because he wasn't good enough to be in Boston; as I said above, I think he was sent down to reset his game and his confidence before bringing him back later in the year. Exactly what happened, but faster than I would have thought because of the Lindholm injury. I think it was in the best interest of the player and his development to play a lot more and in an environment more conducive to working things out. Like I said before, if I'm quoting DJ Khaled, it's ironic. But while we're here, what's McAvoy's +/- when paired with Lohrei? -2. With Wotherspoon? -1 With Shittencrack? -1. Why isn't McAvoy carrying all of those guys the way he apparently carries Toby? And why are we even talking about IRToby? Oh, right...because some people can't stop talking about him. Awesome your +/- conclusion is McAvoy and Grzelcyk should never be separated. Cause Matt makes Charlie better. Nothing about Grzelcyks play passes my better eye test vs Lohrei. Grzelcyk is a waste of space and made of glass. Guess Lohreis +/- in Providence didn't really matter.

Gotta say, he's certainly not perfect but i like Wotherspoon, he at least shows some physicality and gumption. He's an option at 3rd pairing LD if Forbort departs. Yep. You know, you take that step back and look at how the Bruins have worked since the salary cap, and I think they've more or less had some core philosophies that haven't changed because you don't fix what ain't broke. One of those is pro scouting the minors to turn up some guys who might not be meeting their drafting team's expectations but who they think they can retrofit to a player they can use. And Wotherspoon could be one of those guys. Wotherspoon wasn't a big scoring D in the WHL, but he showed some ability and by his final year, he was close to a point/game. Leading scorer on that team was Morgan Geekie. That team in TriCity had a bunch of drafted guys. But he's a 2015 pick who plateaued as an offensive defenseman at maybe 0.45 points/game. And he's not big at 6'1 195. So you can see why the Isles finally let him walk. I have no doubt they offered him around in one of those AHL deals like the ones where the Bruins acquired Bowers for Keith Kincaid and then shipped him for Reilly Walsh (not a bad bit of business - Kincaid was a UFA signing they didn't really need in the end and Walsh is 24 yr old PMD putting up .5 points/game in Providence). Boston's not asking him to be a PMD. He's playing a relatively simple game. And the stat they seemed to like best was 127 PIM a couple of years ago in Bridgeport. I think he could be the next Cliffy, right? Same story, but Arizona (it's always worth pillaging Arizona) gave up on Cliffy. He was a 5th in 2013 who played out his NCAA eligibility. I can't recall if the Coyotes offered him a contract or not. The first guy in this line for me is Boychuk. Second rounder that Colorado wanted to be a PMD type - or a PPQB - but his defensive game was looser than Jack's grasp of the English langauge these days. They adapted him to a simple game, and 7 years later, he was able to be the player the Avs thought they drafted on Lon Guyland. But Seidenberg almost fits that bill. Philly wanted him to be an offensive player, and then Carolina and Florida...Boston focussed him on D and the O came when it came. He's underrated in terms of how many points he brought to the table in Boston. 117 points over parts of 7 seasons topping out at nearly .4 points/game in the Cup year and .38 in the Finals year. Injury curtailed his production at the end. Then there's McQuaid - the 2nd rounder Columbus let go for a 5th, then when they flipped that 5th to Dallas, watched it become Jamie Benn. In the end, Columbus gave up McQuaid, the pick that became Benn, and two other 5th rounders for the right to draft Maksim Mayorov. Ouch. There's been a bunch of fails, but the Bruins have been volume shooters in this. Between undrafted D and reclamation projects, they've tried guys like Kampfer and Bartkowski - Kampfer was a 4th from Anaheim and Bart a 7th in Florida. Combined, they've played close to 500 NHL games, but they couldn't be consistently useful in Boston. The signed PMD Jeff Penner and eventually sent him to the Wild to get Khudo. Took a shot with Oiler 5th rounder Cody Wild. Took another shot at Colorado's prospect pool with Colby Cohen. Lots of other nope in there. But all told, to get what they've pulled out of Boychuk, McQuaid, Cliffy, and even Kampfer and Bart for basically zero player/draft capital going the other way? Keep doing it. All you need to know is Wotherreport is a 2015 pick, Sweeney after Hanifan next!

And if it makes no sense for Chewbacca to live on the moon of Endor with the Ewoks, you must acquit! You're fighting a battle that doesn't exist. 1. I was mocking Toby with a DJ Khaled reference as much as I was pointing out that as much as people love to hate him, he seems to have some use in the coaches' eyes. 2. You tried to make the point that Toby is only a + when he plays with McAvoy. I pointed out that McAvoy isn't 'carrying' players who have been touted as "better" than Toby - then asked you a question. At no point did I say anything like Toby makes McAvoy. You're inventing strawmen again. I also have never said Toby is better than Lohrei. My argument is explicitly that Toby being in Boston over Lohrei makes sense as a decision based on development of a young player who seemed to have hit a wall before he went down and NOT because Toby deserves to play ahead of him. And no one needs Johnny Cochrane to confuse the issue.

Lohreis development needs to be playing against NHL players. Dancing on the Bruinns cap hit to keep Grzelcyk is stupid and senseless. Strawman ? You mentioned in another thread that Bs management and Monty, because he mentioned it, are paying attention to +/-. I'm not first the to bring up the stat when speaking about either defenseman.

It makes all sorts of sense when they can't just make it go away. And when it makes fuck all difference. And when the point is to get Lohrei ready to be a top 3 and nit just better than the dingos inthe 4-5-6. You think it's the same thing that i mentioned, in a conversation about the validity if a stat, that the franchise seems to put some weight on it and suggesting I argued that Toby is better than Lohrei?
