Kuraly is playing with matches, and burning his fingers in the process...if that's what you mean by "playing with fire." Frederic, absolutely agreed has been terrific out there, and I have no idea what Wagner is doing...I think he really misses Acciari--those 2 had fun together. I like Kuraly but just not 3v3. Just stop Bruce!

Maybe take Frederic and play him with Alias Smith and Coyle...screw it, let's have a third line clicking at all cylinders....the 4th line is the weakest link...good-bye! I still like the idea of Smith and Coyle together - even if they don't look like there's much chemistry, yet. If Fred could join them and make it a true grinding line that can score, that'd be awesome.

Bjork goes from the 1st to the 4th line in 4 games, safe travels.

Optimistic results and hoping TF is a better complement that Bjork.

Kase for a 1st keeps smelling more and more. It was the 30th pick wasn't it? Bergeron overcame significant concussion issues. Hopefully Case can as well.

This team has no 47, 88, 33 and don't miss a beat. The PP is fine, the 5-on-5 is fine after tough start to season, the newly formed Consecutive Line doing great, Bjork finding a spot on 4th line, Ritchie is playing out of his mind, and Cassidy is praising the kiddie korps of 11,23,55,67...look, maybe it's not President Trophy esque, but 88 hasn't even played yet. The 2 goalies are back to being what they were last year--best combo in NHL. This is a Cup contender.

Have a sick kiddo so just musing at 4am!
After the second period of the first Philly game I was ready to throw in the towel and talk draft lottery the next 5 months. Four periods later I am thinking about the trade deadline 😁.
So clearly I am overreacting in both ways. I think we need to play out the next 20 or so games to really see what we have.
But my thoughts at the moment is we know we will soon have the BLiH back, the CC, CS and Feddy line looks nice, DK still seems to have some magic in him. I like Studs but still trying to figure him out. Debrusk is really starting to annoy me but that just means he'll go on a goal bender any moment now. I think DS needs to figure out how to get an elite winger for DK if we want really strong depth for a playoff run. I'd trade Debrusk if that helped get it done. So you'd have DK, that trade target and then the best of Studs, Fatface, Cold Kase and Bjork to take that other spot.

Lauzon still having hiccups but he is playing through it. Zboril looking very comfortable. Grzelcyk beat up early. It is early and maybe this belongs on the Seattle expansion thread gotta question whether or not possibly Grzelcyk gets left exposed. I don’t believe Vaakanainen will have to be left for Seattle don’t think he is eligible.
If whats taking place now keeps going on, I think it will, is Grzelcyk going to be left for Seattle ? Maybe a pre-draft trade ?

Just because Krug is gone, doesn't mean he suddenly becomes Krug. If Seattle takes him I'd be perfectly happy that we get to see Lauzon continue to develop as a Bruin.

I do believe that the Kraken expansion had more to do with not re-signing Chara than we know. The B's will now get a season to fully assess what they have on D. I see it now as McAvoy, Carlo, Lauzon, Zboril, Gryz, but thats for now. I do think in the end Gryz is unprotected or maybe even traded beforehand.

Pasta on his way back - Cass was asked if he could reach 50 - basically said it would be a hard go to do in the shortened season and noone had 50 in 50 since maybe Gretz in 92 or Maybe Hull. Also said he could possibly do it if anyone could, but was not going to project on it - main thing to get him back and healthy
Lauzon is 8th 4:15 pk time in league, Carlo 9th 4:01, Chara 29th 3:17, Miller 43rd 3:00
Grizz 23rd PP 3:31 , Krug 41st 2:34, Mac 65th 1:45
Mac 12th toi/gp 24:54, Krug (3rd stl) 45th 22:28, Chara 88th 20:03, Zboril 92nd 19:45, Grizz 93rd 19:44, Lauzon 101st 19:20, Carlo 118th 18:44, Miller 122nd 18:15, Clifton 126th 18:12
Goals against per game tied for 3rd 2.00 PP 5th 35.3 PK tied for 1st 90.0 FOW 3rd 56.1
Numbers look good in a lot of aspects, surprising numbers for D, Rask and Halak have been keeping the barn doors closed.
Now the challenge of Pit and Was the next 4 games

Now the challenge of Pit and Was the next 4 games Makes me think - the vaunted MassMutual East has not been the meat grinder people thought. Sure, Washington and Pittsburgh are the top of the division, but: Jersey would be second in the divison based on points% after two weeks. They held the Bruins to three goals in two games and got the 3-3 points split. Last night, they shutout the Isles. Speaking of the Isles, they have 9 goals after 5 games.... They've only given up 8 - the only team in the division to give up fewer than the Bruins so far. The Bruins are the only team with a goal differential better than +1. Everyone else is between +1 and -2. Washington is on top but they have fewer wins than the Pens, who have a worse points% than the Bruins and Devils. The Sabres' vaunted additions haven't translated to team success - partly because Rasmus Dahlin is 0-0-0 and -5 after six games. Eichel has 0 goals after 6 games. Hall has 1. Both are getting assists, both have 7 points in 6 games. It's always been my contention that Hall will get his cookies and doesn't care what the team gets out of them. Other previous key acquisitions continue to struggle - Skinner with 1 assist. Tage Thompson with 1 assist in 4 games. Okposo played one game. I'm just glad the Bruins aren't in the COVID Central with Dallas, Columbus, Carolina.... After two weeks, I see no reason to think the Bruins can't win this division. I thought Philly had a chance to be the class of this group, and maybe with Couturier it's a different beast, but no one else in teh division makes me think the Bruins are in over their heads.
