I have been mulling this over for some time now. Kopitar, Toews, and Bergeron. Three perennial Selke nominees, key players for their team, and recent Stanley Cup champions. All are paid very well for what they bring to the table as well.
So, having said all that, if you could choose just one to anchor your team, who would it be?
Personally I am on the fence and would like to hear the opinions of others.......

Toews Bergeron Kopitar
But it's a very close race from 1st to 3rd. Toews is a bit better offensively than Bergeron without giving up much in any other area. He's also been better and more consistent in the playoffs. He's also a year or 2 younger. Kopitar is also better than Bergeron on offense but I feel there is a slight drop-off in most other areas so I give Bergeron the edge over him.
In a perfect world I have all 3 of these guys on my team!

Agree with WTL, very close, but I'd go with Toews. I think he is the better player overall and has more of an impact on a game.

I should add that Toews has also been more productive in the playoffs than Bergeron. That, more than anything else is probably why I'd take him first.

Agreed, and as I stated in another thread, no player has more impact or is more dangerous in a playoff game than Patrick Kane. That has to help Toews out some bit.

This is complete personal fear on my part but I always tend to feel that Bergeron and Toews are just one hit away form retirement...as both have concussion issues in the past. With Kopitar, he is a big boy and seems to be able to absorb a hell of a lot more.
Again, just a personal qualm....

Toews, I don't think is as good defensively as Bergeron, but offensively he is very gifted.
What he did to Boston in the 2013 SCF as imeasurable. The man went into beast mode.

Good thread, it's close, similar players. I am taking Bergeron for contract alone, much better value (nice job PC).
Toews: signed for the next 8 seasons @ Cap Hit of $10.5M per Bergeron: signed for 4 more years @ Cap Hit of $6.5M per Kopitar: pending UFA; 1 more @ Cap Hit of $6.8M
Kopitar is going to get paid!

Kopitar is going to get paid! He sure will...my bet is on the Rags. St. Louis is coming off the books there and Slats likes his big UFA signings....

If they're all getting paid the same, I pick Toews. With their current contracts, Bergeron all day.

I have to give the edge to Toews because he can change the game the most out of the three player listed.

This one's easy; Toews. Captain serious would look great an a Bruins uniform.

Toews by a longshot.... reminds me the most of the best all-around center i've ever witnessed Bryan Trottier....

I hate to do this and I love Bergeron. But my heart says Patrice, my mind tells me Toews. Hey I said it.

Also don't think St. Louis is going anywhere. The Rangers don't deserve another big splash in free agency after using their compliance buyouts on big ticket free agents in Richards and Redden.

With Toews having 2 superstars playing with him in Kane & Hossa a lot of the time? The other thing is that until I hear that Toews played with the same injuries that Bergeron did in a SCF I'm taking Bergeron on those 2 merits. I love Toews he's one of my favorite players, but Bergeron's my overall favorite.

Any particular reason Fletch? I just think he's a better all around player. He's good everywhere and he seems to play best when it counts. He's a better scorer than Bergeron for sure. In some ways I respect Bergeron even more because it's close -- I think Toews is more talented by a healthy margin.

Toews, though, yeah the contract would make me choose Bergeron. Can't really go wrong, though.
