…has OC replaced the bad taste in your mouth yet? Always trying... If it ain't one blow job after eating asparagas, it's a blow job after eating ice cream that will help.

Yep, i had the B's fighting for a WC spot last season so where they finished is something i didn't see coming at all. I think they will be in the mix for a playoff spot next season, who knows where. You pulled a reverse Eddy the Mush.

Yah it was ruff break up/let down. Management went all in so the off-season haven't been glamorous ones. Can't blame anyone for still being upset. For some it's just takes more time getting back into optimism. Bad summer to quit taking amphetamines!! There's no good time to stop.

I hope so. I love having him back in black and gold. He's been...humbled a bit by his time in Edmonton and Calgary. From what I've heard from friends and family in that part of the world, the rah rah is now more behind the scenes because he isn't able to back it up the same way he did in his best years in Boston. At least, he doesn't have as many ways to do it as he did. The big hits and running a guy through the boards, that is for sure still there, but there aren't many guys out there ready to drop the gloves with him, and his scoring is now a side dish. And I think the Edmonton experience kind of broke some of his enthusiasm. He went into that situation the same way Chara came to Boston - he wanted to lead by example and give that young roster that had never won a damn thing the benefit of a Cup winner's experience. I remember that first year and quotes from him regularly in Oilers stories that sounded like "things I learned in Boston" - you'll lose some games but don't let it become a streak; that's how you fall out of contention. That kind of thing. I really hope that being a Bruin again brings back that Lucic. And I think playing Bruins hockey will be good for him because "the structure" has always been good at slowing the pace of the game even against go-go teams. I was down on a Lucic comeback until the WHC this year. First line, .5 p/g, title win. He still has it. He's only 34, never really been hurt (who could hurt him?!?) and in great shape. I think a lot of his decline is mental. There's an added renaissance element here in that he left Boston under a dark cloud. His father committed suicide that summer, and it's been alluded that he wanted to go west to be closer to mom. Years have passed now. Wounds have become scars, and now he gets to come back to where hockey was most fun. If DK comes back, I'd be tempted if I were Monty to throw him out there in a top-6 role with Krejci and Pasta and see what happens. Wouldn't shock me if he can still score. I wonder what could have been with Lucic. He has only missed 11 games over last 8 years since leaving Boston. The first 2 he had 55 and 50, then the bottom fell out in Edmonton with 34 even though he was still one of the top scorers in Edm, his minutes and everything dwindled from there through Calgary. Had he stayed in Boston, would he have dropped off production so drastically at 28. The same time that Marchand started to thrive post clod. He had played with Pasta when Pasta was just a rook, would he be the relegated 4th liner they made him. His salary was a killer, but I hated to see him go. Glad to have him back, especially at the salary. Would not bother me in the least to see him with Pasta and DK

Does Bergeron's retirement mean that Krejci is still coming back at Christmas or sooner?

Yep, that's how i see it as well, whether now or down the road, unless the B's ride out the season with Zacha, Coyle & Geekie, not ideal, but there will be some UFA top C's available next summer. It all depends if Sweeney wants to wait, i know i wouldn't.

He also might sign a reasonable extension and i think the Jets will part with him, the sooner the better.

Both good players.

Gonna need U 2 Utes for all the 2-1 and 1-0 games. Offense is going shaky in the beginning me thinks.
