We'll try to get Kassian involved in as many trades as we can! Can never have enough. He's a sure fire 30 gl man, just has to change locales,Nucks are misusing him.

I have a number of friends that are Rangers fans. Almost all of them think girardi is the odd man out. I don't get it, but it's what they want. 2016 1st and morrow?

If the Rags like Yandle more, then someones got to go,they already have Staal and McDonagh who play the same type of game,so Girardi makes sense, him or Staal.

I'd be really leery of something like that - they need to figure out what their strategy is and whether or not the perception that they're just a few bounces and better health away from being a title contender again is reality. Otherwise, Morrow might be a much better long term bet than $5M+ Girardi and that 2016 pick could be a good one.
Be great to add Girardi if they had the cap space to do it.

Girardi got burned left n right in the playoffs especially against Tampa.
If DS gives up a 1st and Morrow, I would want a lot more than a stiff like Girardi.

If they're going to give up a 1st and Morrow I would rather have Seabrook.

Perhaps a first and a lesser prospect then. I was more thinking along the lines of the money. Girardi is a really good player, and he's got cost certainty at 5.5. Given that Petry just got the same deal, I would jump at that

You add a million to your cap for a younger player, an upgrade (thought I'd have to think about that), and you're paying a lot more to get him than you'll get moving out DS. No question the money is good.

I don't think you'd have to move seids to make it work. First pairing chara and girardi, second pairing seids and hamilton, third pairing krug and trotman. Miller 7th d has a cap hit of 21.2 plus whatever Douglas gets. That's not too bad. Call it 25.8, leaves about 38 million for the forwards

Krejci, Bergeron, Lucic, Marchand and Ericksson add up to about $29 of that $38M. Connolly, Spooner and Pastrnak will help, you hope, because even with RFA status for two of those guys, you're looking at maybe $5 for the lot, which leaves you $4M for Talbot and two kids and a back up - a mil or less per. Yeah, I guess that could work. Hm....

Yes, thank you book, I forgot to mention I took out 8 million for goaltending. Personally, given that you have three players on the roster with high offensive ceilings in Connolly, spooner, and pasta, I would spend the money on d, and I think for the money, girardi is an excellent fit. I also think the Rangers will trade either Staal or girardi in the near future.

ANA- Tuukka Rask BOS-Maroon, Vatanen/Lindholm, Andersen
ANA gets a "final piece." Boston get a big body like Horton to put with Lucic and Krejci, and another PMD to balance a top-4 of Chara, Vatanen, Seidenberg, Hamilton and keep Millar and Krug off the top-4. Andersen benefits from a good defense and the cap dollars work for both sides.

NSH-Kelly
BOS-Gaustad
The cupboard is bare down in Providence. I was looking for prospects to trade and the highest scorer has something like 40 points. They might be better off dumping some guys like Kelly and Millar for prospects. If it goes sideways this year, I think that's what they'll be doing next summer.

My thinking is that with Kelly and Campbell gone, Gaustad and Spooner can center the fourth and third lines, and have more of a three line attack.

It looks like a good trade to me as well,Maroon is a LW though,so playing with Fat & Krejci won't work. Maroon,Spooner,Pasta i guess,or keep Fat with this line and put Maroon with Krejci & Connolly.

No Cap relief in that deal, Gaustad's hit is +$250k over Kelly. Frankly, think Kelly is a better player than Gaustad and probably a better fit.
