How did the gang miss this when it happened? I thought he died a while ago, like 2019 or something. Unreal this slipped passed the forum. He was first ballot all star. R.I.P.
Another great movie with a young Mister Poitier, plus IMHO a superb performance by Vic Morrow as the villain. (Glenn Ford and Anne Francis good as always)

Borje Salming, the Toronto Maple Leafs’ Hall of Fame defenseman who became the N.H.L.’s first Swedish star and a pioneer for the numerous European players who have changed the face of the league, died on Thursday in Nacka, Sweden. He was 71.
The Leafs said the cause was amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

R.I.P. Irene Cara. Only 63 years old. (I think "Fame" & "Flashdance" were okay.)

Somehow or other I thought all of that was about the Salming pregame ceremony thing and I didn't see the dying part. Maybe because I read about the Salming pregame somewhere just before he died? Geez. The folks of my generation are going and going bit by bit, and a whole mess of the ones that I wish would go are still here.

R.I.P. I hope Mick Fleetwood & John McVie are smart enough to call it quits now. John McVie, Stevie Nicks and Buckingham have all had health issues in recent years, i hope you're right, if they don't have enough money by now too bad.

John McVie, Stevie Nicks and Buckingham have all had health issues in recent years, i hope your right, if they don't have enough money by now too bad. I don't think Lindsey Buckingham (who's 73 years old) will rejoin them now. Christine was allegedly his best friend in FMac. Replacing him with Neil Finn & Mike Campbell in 2018 was a stupid idea to begin with (most likely Stevie Nicks'). John McVie just turned 77, Mick Fleetwood is 75, Nicks is 74, Campbell is 72. Finn is the youngest member at 64.
Don't get me wrong, I loved Neil Finn in Split Enz & Crowded House (all through the Woodface album, saw them three times in the 80s and early 90s, and they were a hoot on stage/ R.I.P. Paul Hester). And who doesn't like The Heartbreakers? (R.I.P. Tom Petty & Howie Epstein) But it's always tricky to replace an essential member of a band. I hate the crap that money-grubbing hypocrites May & Taylor have been doing since Freddie Mercury passed away (including the IMHO abysmal pseudo-movie BR), I never liked The Who with Kenney Jones (only Zak Starkey comes close to being a viable replacement for Keith Moon), and don't get me started on replacing John Entwistle, one of my favorite bass guitarists. The list goes on and on (and if I really cared for "Sir Mick Money-Grubber & The Phonies", I'd have plenty more to say). Well, maybe "Little Stevie" wants to continue and tries to recruit, say, Tori Amos to join them...

Mick Fleetwood made the choice for Lindsey Buckingham. He sided with Stevie Nick's insecurities. Stevie is the reason Lindsey was dismissed and that cost Mick and Fleetwood Mac a ton of dough as Lindsey sued and won.
Apparently Stevie is long-winded during her chance to grab the mic during interviews. She accused Buckingham of mocking her during a press conference. Then demanded Fleetwood kick Buckingham off the 2018 upcoming tour or she would leave.
One thing Stevie Nick's can't stand is being reminded that she would be back in Phoenix waiting tables If it weren't for Buckingham. Lindsey turned down Mick to join Fleetwood Mac unless Stevie Nicks comes along as a package. Stevie hates that reminder.
Stevie Nick's is a incredible singer and lyricist. But an insecure dumb ass. Everyone in the band used to make fun of her long-winded speeches but she decided to only go after Buckingham. She's an asshole.
Buckingham should never go back.

Never one of my favourite bands. Always felt like less that the sum of their parts for me.
And of course they're still touring. Cocaine isn't getting cheaper (I've been told...).

Not one of my favorite bands either, but with some good tunes. Pretty much everything on Rumours makes me nauseated. It was inescapable for forever on radio and the ear-worminess of that started to give me vertigo or something because I can't listen to those songs.

I can see your point, even though "Rumours" wasn't a big problem for me (it was still much better than Boney M, George Baker Selection or - you knew this was coming - HEINO! that occupied the airwaves around Frankfurt). But remember our conversation about Led Zeppelin? That's how I felt about a lot of their songs after some of my "friends" had virtually tortured me to death with them...

Not one of my favorite bands either, but with some good tunes. Buckingham is genius level song producer. Very unique guitar style as well. Case in point: Stevie Nicks' tune "Dreams". Try to play this song just with one guitar (or piano, doesn't matter). Utterly boring. Buckingham's arrangement, his licks, etc. - genius.
