"Nobody's follows the Killer!" Jerry Lee Lewis Kept a low profile for a long while. Probably wanted that it that way.

That's Jerry Lee Lewis for those youngsters in the crowd. Saw him live in some remote place in Central Europe in the late 80s. The opening act, a local rockabilly band (they were surprisingly good), was constantly getting signals from behind the stage that "the Killer" wasn't yet ready to perform. When he finally appeared on stage, he gave the audience everything they had waited for. During the encores he even climbed behind the drum kit and played, quite competently, while smoking a pipe. R.I.P.

The performance should be taught as a class. Even though Rod Steiger won an Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe for his "Chief Gillespie" in "In The Heat Of The Night", I still think he was underrated.

And now Gallagher. Who's going to smash the watermelons? Gallagher, who became one of the most recognizable comedians of the 1980s for an outrageous act that always concluded with him smashing a watermelon with a sledgehammer, died on Friday at his home in Palm Springs, Calif. He was 76.

Outside of his movies, he seemed to live an understated life. I don't recall his name ever attached to anything that screamed publicity. Might be no surprise his passing was not an especially high-profiled one. Of all his films, I like The Defiant Ones with him and Tony Curtis. Both on top of their game in that one.

You think in the scheme of things he wished he hadn't done 3 buddy-buddy pictures with Bill Cosby? Uptown Saturday Night. I think my favorite Poitier film was Patch of Blue, but then I always thought Shelly Winters was a terrific actress...Hollywood stories: Later in life, she was asked to audition for a role in a movie that she wanted a part in. She was told to bring a photo and a resume to the audition. She brings a carpetbag with her and pulls out her 1st Oscar "this is my photo." and then pulls out her 2nd Oscar and says, "and here's my fucking resume."....she was a cool broad on and off the screen.

Almost a point per game while with the B's. R.I.P.Milbury said he went into the stands at Madison Square Garden that night of the riot game because he heard McNab was in there. Milbury had originally headed down the hallway to the visiting lockerroom. Pete McNab was automatic secondary scoring, hell he was the epitome of secondary scoring.
