This shouldn't take so long. Carlo is lifting the guy's stick, he clearly puts it on Swayman's arm and prevents him from moving his glove toward the puck.
The overhead camera angle is abundantly clear.

I wanna see a Lucic on Miller moment now, then... outside the blue is fair game to interfere.

I used to think Wes McCauley was one of the better refs in the NHL, but he has been bad/soft on a number of calls tonight.

B's and other teams different rules...this goes back to the famous DK in the crease interference call....an alltime joke that he interfered with goalie...since that, all bets off...B's will get short end on these calls..always

69.1 in the rulebook:
This rule is based on the premise that an attacking player’s position, whether inside or outside the crease, should not, by itself, determine whether a goal should be allowed or disallowed. In other words, goals scored while attacking players are standing in the crease may, in appropriate circumstances be allowed.
Goals should be disallowed only if: (1) an attacking player, either by his positioning or by contact, impairs the goalkeeper’s ability to move freely within his crease or defend his goal; or (2) an attacking player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a goalkeeper, inside or outside of his goal crease. Incidental contact with a goalkeeper will be permitted, and resulting goals allowed, when such contact is initiated outside of the goal crease, provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact. The rule will be enforced exclusively in accordance with the on-ice judgement of the Referee(s), but may be subject to a Coach’s Challenge

Same with suspensions...let's give McAvoy 4 games because he had a record from 4 years earlier..but Trouba free shot on Freddy...just a fine...bull to the shit.

63 can breathe on someone..penalty! But he can get x-checked, slashed and he can be knocked over and..no call!..his next slew play will be 20 game suspension..even if opponent has no chance of injury

He sure seems to think he's a tough guy, all 4' 9" of him. A nice punch or a very solid boarding call would take care of that ass, although in this game i don't think the B's need any stupid penalties. If the B's can break it open then that's another story, haha. I am sure Mac is plotting his revenge as we speak 😃 2-2 going into the 3rd, it will have to wait for now.

That was an all out effort to interfere with the catching glove and zero effort to avoid contact.

I guess this explains why the gl was allowed. That was an all out effort to interfere with the catching glove and zero effort to avoid contact. I agree but obviously the refs thought the Wings player made a "reasonable effort". It is what it is, bad calls every game , every night, nothing changes.
