It's not like they're listless tonight, jm. They're hustling and have had chances but man, the mistakes have been killers. As Sandog would say, too many 4th liners and career AHLrs. Quality just isn’t there in depth. Let’s be honest, this is the Pasta show. Either he drives the O or there is none. Yup. And if the other club shuts him down by smashing him at every opportunity, especially come playoff time, there's not much support.

This homestand, the one I thought the B's would make full use of in piling up points has been shit.

I'm a big fan of them fucking around in the o-zone while down 2 and the clock ticking under 1 minute... holy shit.

Bingo, plus goalies know the pass is going to go to him for the one timer every chance they get so they track it and get in position. Game over.

Tipped shots, not there. Front presence was there, several that did not go in. Dacord was pretty solid in front of a good Kraken defense. Sways swaying the wrong way on the first goal was foretelling.

Credit to the Butt Krackens for making the most of their chances. The Bruins can not say the same.

So weird. Great game against a great team in Canucks, and 3 stinkers against average teams.
They weren't bad tonight, but maybe they just aren't that good. I don't know.

I just don't know...I can count the empty chances for, I see the scoring chances(goals) against...hit goal posts, missed wide open nets, lethargic no pressure forchecking...bad breaks with ruts in the ice, telegraphed passing, passing into heavy traffic expecting results, penalties resulting from laziness in the O-zone, goals allowed in the last minute of the period/game...
I see all of this and I don't see how it can be fixed this year with the personnel the Bruins have in Boston & Providence. What do you think Donny sees? Pretty sure Cam sees everything.
Not a fun time being a Bruins fan in our household these days...

I must be watching a different game. Just heard Barry say Debrusk had a good period. The Bs were dominate was the earlier assessment. Pasta and Marchand I thought were subpar. I think Barry was merely suggesting that JDB change his tampon during the next intermission.

This is a down year with no cap space, little draft capital, and a patchwork lineup.

Not a fun time being a Bruins fan in our household these days... I would consider riding it out, no cap space so any moves will have to be very minor. The only trade chips are either goalie and DeBrusk, Gryz and some Providence prospects. There are a lot of deep teams that are Cup favorites that i can't see the B's beating over a 7 game series for 4 straight series. I think we all knew that coming in and being 2nd OA in the league at this point in time is very surprising if we're being honest. The B's will make the playoffs but that's all i can tell you, after that we will have to make alter sacrifices, hail mary's and voodoo chile to go on a run, that and outstanding 10 bell tending all the way.

Agree, just get through the rest of this season, bow out in the 1st round, clear the cap and build for next year.

For someone who skates around the ice with so much flair, JDB sure accomplishes very little.

Exactly, there will be cap space and players on expiring deals. There will also be a goalie that can be traded for a good draft pick or player/players. I guess Sweeney could make a blockbuster trade of some sort but it's not in his DNA and frankly i wouldn't do it. This years deadline should be interesting.

Let's say Sweeney is able to bring in Hanifan and a C of some type, is that enough to go on a run? Everything would have to go right, like a favorable 1st round matchup, favorites getting upset and hot goaltending, plus no injuries. That happened in 2019 and they still blew it, i don't see lady luck shining down that much and to that degree, but i'm a glass half full guy, haha!

They should be gone, Lysell, Lohrei up full time and any UFA's added with the available cap space. There are also a ton of teams that are only missing a top goalie, the B's have two so trade partners should be many.

B's PP is stone cold keep missin', oh well, time to call up Lysell, nuthin' to lose. The Bruins could always use another goal scoring winger but I read an article before Christmas where his coach in Providence called him out for not applying his offensive skills within the structure of the team. Seems he tried to take on three or four of the opposition players by himself in the attacking end. His coach was pissed and said something along the lines of him needing to see there's not always a play to be made. The coach said Lysell has to embrace that or he won't get the call up because the team concept is what Montgomery is all about. If that's the case, it sounds like he's not yet NHL ready and the more big-league experienced Richard is.
