If we're being serious though, this game was still winnable even with the B's playing a poor game. I'm also left shaking my head that the B's in the Stanley Cup playoffs got not 1 but 2 too many men on the ice penalties, that's embarrassing, should not happen in a Cup game.

Coyle gets 2 mins for getting punched in the face Literally did nothing to get put in the box. Just terrible even up call. Probably that little dust up with Bertoothless after the initial punch. Dumb call either way.

Looks like Canes may be involved in another home loss. Still time.
Meanwhile — only took less than 90 seconds for LTIR Stone to score 1st goal.

Thought Carlo had a very good game. The Bruins..I dunno.
Linus was excellent. goalie talk is crazy. I think the rotation thing, is clearly the way to go, til proven otherwise.
The tough part about tonights game, imo, is our guys lost so many battles. They competed, but TO looked stronger.
Momentum has shifted in the blink of an eye. Now our guys have to scratch back and will something.
Biggest, most important game of the year coming up.
Lot a work to do.

I like Freddie but he can be a difference maker in this series, Domi is doing it for TO, Trent not so much. Bullshit. The third line has been dominant for Boston. Probably the key factor in the game 1 win. Like to see JVR in for Lauko though, just a lot more talented.

If he's acoring he's a pussy because he doesn't hit. If he's hitting he's invisible because he's not scoring.

I mean empty netters not included.

People will point to the goalie change, which is nonsense. Boston just sloppy. Definitely, but Sway was the recipient of playing behind a great effort and Linus was the recipient of a subpar effort and clearly outplayed by Tor. If they stay with the rotation it'll all sort of even out in the wash, but with just 2 games under the microscope there will certainty be a crowd saying give Sway the net completely.. Ultimately Linus played great, did his part and had tons of saves to keep them in it.. The team just fell flat. If anyone says the B's win this game if Sway was in net they are delusional. They B's will step it up next game with Sway. Anyone blaming the goaler is an idiot. But this is part of why I like the move to Linus. Next game they come back with a fresh and undefeated Roadhouse. Game 2 pushback was to be expected.

Carlo played great, kudos to him. I wonder who will get the call for Peeke, Wotherspoon kill penalties?

Gryz sucked, and the Peekie injury really hurt. Hope to see two new D in next game. And get JVR in for Lauko. I am for adjustments on D. Not against JVR coming in either.

Anyone else think that Matthews got away with closing his hand on the puck to "catch" Domi's alley-oop pass and throw it ahead before scoring the winning goal? Even Simpson complimented his "nice grab" on the play and it being a post pattern. ( My wife and I got into a short argument about the topic and she did NOT want to watch my rewind replay... )

McAvoy fucking sucked when it counted and Lindholm, look he's a solid defensive player, but he's always pass, pass, pass, pass in offensive zone...those 2 guys needed to step up with Peeke out and I thought 73 was awful in the 3rd period especially.

48 will always be in the lineup and always get burned on a penalty...didn't help tonight...12 I thought played well offensively like he is supposed to and had some great chances..29 enters lineup to me...but should be for 48.

Ullmark was if anything spectacular, kept the game from being a rout the other way...Samsonov made some big saves, redirects that he stopped.

From my seats, I thought the B's played a good 1st period but then really let up after that. They didn't have the same intensity/urgency after that, even with the Leafs taking their usual dumb, undisciplined penalties.
The Leafs played better and carried possession in the 2nd and 3rd. The B's had trouble clearing the puck and had a lot of attempted clears up the boards where a pinching Leafs defensemen beat a Bruin winger to the puck for the hold-in (Pasta in particular got beat there a lot). The Grizz interference penalty was weak (not outrageous, but weak) but really was a turning point. Tie game there, and the confidence went the other way
I would have stuck with Swayman, but I really don't like Monday-morning quarterbacking on that. Ullmark was fine. I really didn't understand Maroon getting PP time in the 3rd period, down by a goal. A really sloppy late PP. Not much room for Marchand or Pasta.

Seriously, the momentum switched when Sway was benched, toronto was overjoyed to not face their daddy sway, they were afraid of his 960 sv percent, i really think Monty sucks, you can't get a rythm with the goalie rotation, his bad decisions costing us the momentum. Sway better get 1,3,5,7 and Linus 2,4,6. It's going 7.

( My wife and I got into a short argument about the topic and she did NOT want to watch my rewind replay... ) I screamed it out loud. You can’t grab closed hand and place the puck where you want. It’s a penalty. But shitty refs wasn’t the reason for that loss. Goaltending was even. Our def stunk. Shattenkirk didn’t even attempt to block cupcake shot on pk. All of their lines out played ours esp their 4th line who was good. Remember when Freddy drove Ovi crazy. Why can’t he be that guy again? I liked that guy.

A lot of hitting, more so I thought before the Leafs started to control the zone..I felt like the B's best d guys were just so not sharp when the B's had puck in Loafs zone--which wasn't a lot during the last 30 minutes. Hard to just single out forwards overall, there were times where Root Beer was great and other times where he missed the assignment, one resulted in Tavares PP goal. Zacha was fantastic again. I think he's been incredible for what it's worth. Maybe the team's best forward this series.
