Speaking of which, Pats fans must be absolutely tumescent at the thought of another Brady-Manning showdown. I think if you looked at it from a Vegas persepctive in the moments after they beat the Chefs, you saw three distinct and almost equal opportunities: Manning, the wounded Steelers, or somehow the NFL just kicks the Patriots directly to the Superbowl. And somehow the team without its top two RBs, the league's best WR, and an injured QB might have been the scariest opponent.

I cannot stand the Carolina Panthers, though they are good. I just hate all the dancing and showboating.
That Arizona-Green Bay game was crazy, Aaron Rodgers hailmary was incredible, to be able to throw a football that far, that accurate in the position he was in is insane. As for that stupid coin flip fiasco, this is what I can't stand when it comes to the NFL. It's become almost as bizarre as a Mike Tyson boxing match. It's a coin flip, which means, flip the coin you idiot! How do you fuck that up? You must hate all the other teams as well, every one does it and alot. It is very tiring, every tackle, sack, catch, defensive pass stop, running back scamper over 10 yds is like a once in a lifetime celebration, like they've never done it before and don't expect to again, never mind when they score a TD.Even Rodgers with his annoying "title belt" gesture, get over yourself Aaron. Man i long for the way Jim Brown did it, ho hum.

Football players are the worst when it comes to celebrating. Down by 21 with five minutes on the clock, a sack or batted ball gets a hero's dance. Do your job and get back to the huddle you fucking loser.

Do your job and get back to the huddle you fucking loser. Remember the Pats cornerback Chris Canty (~2000)? He was the master. Pats down by 3 touchdowns, 1st and 10 for the other team, and they throw a 9 yard pass to Canty's guy. But he makes the tackle: 15-second dance and gesturing routine, while his teammates wait in the huddle in disbelief.

Yeah, the real shame of it is the fact that making a huge play when your team is down 3, and getting emotional about it in a way that says hey, look at that guy! He's not giving up! He still thinks they can win! That could be an important rallying point if your team is on the verge of rolling over. Big smack on a reciever that saves a catch, forces a punt - show that emotion. But there's no difference btw how these guys celebrate when they catch a 5 yard out vs. how they celebrate when they catch a 5 yard out, juke the corner, run through a tackle by the OLB, stiff-arm the safety and turn 5 into 55TD. So the real crime here isn't celebrating when you make a big play down by 3 TDs so much as celebrating and average, do-your-job play at the 8 minute mark of the 2Q a 10-6 game.
In general, I see both sides of the argument on celebrating. You always heard that line about acting like you've been there before, but I've always loved Gary Clark's comeback: I love scoring TDs so much, every time's like the first time. And I do see the argument about there being a racial thing, too; there's an element of reaction against how sports have changed since Jackie Robinson, the whole "Hoosiers" play the right way white sports culture reacting to who are more demonstrative and frankly having a lot of fun playing the game...if they're black. You get some of it in the way people talk about Cam Newton right now. The only difference between him mocking the Superman shirt rip and Aaron Rogers mocking the title belt is how high his hands are, but for some reason, people say "oh he makes it all about him and not his team!"

Wasn't there a defensive tackle, played for the Giants(?), can't remember, but his team was down by 30 pts or so, he gets a sack and starts dancing like he'd just sacked the QB to run out the clock to win the SB, guy tears his ACL and is done for the yr, incredible .

Forget race, the worst showboater of my childhood years was Mark Gastineau on the Jets. That was the first idiot I can remember doing a "look at me" dance every time he made a play.

It's the equivalent of a hockey player scoring late in the third while down 4-0 and doing the Theo Fleury.
For my whole life, anytime I scored, I'd skate back to the right side of the faceoff circle and wait for the puck to drop.
The hugging routine after every goal in hockey today is wicked gay. And then the all team high five skate by at the bench is stupid also.
Unless it's an absolute beauty, go ahead late in the game or an OT goal, get back to the circle. You did your job.

I hated Pasta jumping against the glass after his goal last night. A simple middle finger would have sufficed.

I was anxious about the Bruins playing the Habs and they came through. Now it's this game on Sunday, even though I believe the Pats are the better tea overall, it's just one game and anything can happen. One big mistake (i.e. fumble on the punt the last time in Denver), you lose and there's no coming back. Any given Sunday .....
Fletch you at the game ?

The tickets I have come across so far are too expensive to sit in crappy seats and be harassed for 3 hours by Bronco fans. I'm holding out. If something face value comes my way, I'll go. I live walking distance from Mile High so I might just head down there and see what's available outside. I really, really need them to win. All my neighbors, co-workers, hockey teammates, etc. are Bronco fans. They hate the Pats with some serious bitterness. I'll be hearing it for weeks if they lose. And Legion, when that punt was in the air at the November game, I was yelling from the upper deck "fair catch, fair catch, no, no, don't, no, NO!" You could see it coming a mile away. It cost them the game. Absolutely no reason for a return there. Possession was everything. I said to my wife at the time "I wonder if he'll be on the team tomorrow". He wasn't. Inexcusable error in judgment. Hope the Pats play smart on Sunday.

No bathroom lines, cold, drunks, $9 beers and traffic afterwards. Eff that.

Do your job and get back to the huddle you fucking loser. My favorite moment of the college football season was some game between two nothihg teams that I bet on because my roommate is a fucking degenerate and told me it was a lock. We had them outright, and our team was down by 2, on the edge of field goal range with a few seconds left, and the quarterback was sacked. The sacker ran to midfield to do his sack dance, the quarterback hustled everyone to the line, snapped it, off sides penalty which stopped the clock, field goal. Suck it, marginal accomplishment celebrators

Looks like the Broncos are ready to give the Pats a game. Manning's passes are like flutterbugs, so there is that.

I am a classic fan. I only watch the Pats. I don't even watch the Super Bowl if the Pats aren't in it. I used to watch no matter what, but now I'm with ya on this!

Who hasn't smoked a little too much and had an anxiety attack? But kind of a rookie mistake and something you would hope a professional athlete could avoid 3 days before the biggest game of the year. I believe he gets paid fairly well to avoid that kind of nonsense a be ready to play football. I have never taken any drugs that were not prescribed to me, except the one time I took speed. Wowza!!

Unreal. I get that the court case is about Goddell's very broad CBA powers, not Brady's guilt, but after the league has been exposed on so many levels, it will be kind of alarming if anyone from the league can keep a straight face in supporting the actions they've taken.
