“The Terror” with Jared Harris is good. Looks like his dad Richard.

My oldest daughter has been watching Castle Rock on hulu and loves it. So, we watched the first episode last night. Not bad but it didn't hook me. It's somewhat disjointed, probably trying to introduce too many elements and characters too soon, is my impression. I'll watch the next episode but if it doesn't get more interesting and cohesive, I'm out. Have any of you "people" watched this series? If, so, what did you think of it?

I have 3 episodes PVR'd because the previews looked interesting, but I haven't watched them yet.

I have 3 episodes PVR'd because the previews looked interesting, but I haven't watched them yet. We'll compare notes later! Most of the filming was done in central Mass. Mostly in the town of Orange which has seen better days, and at the studio at Devens. They used an old victorian house in Lancaster, too.

We are going to watch it. I like most things Stephen King. Ditto. My daughter says the first episode is the weakest out of the 6 she's watched so far. I'll get in a couple more episodes this weekend and drop a bunch of spoilers on Monday lol.

Except for King’s opinion on Stanley Kubrick’s version of the Shining.

Right now the wife and I are doing orange is the new black and Gotham, but really I'm just waiting for the next season of the grand tour. That and the old BBC to great are basically the best thing ever not on ice.

That and the old BBC to great are basically the best thing ever not on ice. Top Gear/Grand Tour are freaking awesome! My wife watched Orange but I dropped out after a bit. Couldn't get in to it. Haven't tried Gotham but I rarely watch anything that's based on comic books and I know my wife won't watch it. I'm tempted, though, because it looks pretty good.

I enjoyed the run of Orange. Have't seen the latest season yet.
Gotham is fun, but it's just too slow for me. Network dramas stretched over 22+ episodes have too much filler.
We are currently going through Fargo, Letterkenny, Altered Carbon (sucks...so slow) and the latest season of Bosch.
We have one episode left on Band of Brothers (she hasn't see it) and recently started Generation Kill (she hasn't seen that one either).

I'm not a comic book fanatic, but enjoy most of the movies and shows. I thought Gotham did a pretty good job with the origins of the villains. It definitely holds my attention but can understand how one would think it drags on a bit.

I heard that Letterkenny is really funny, but it seems like it's almost impossible to get down here in the States. Have any of you Canucks been watching up there?

Half of my comments on here are just straight quotes from Letterkenny. It has a few dud episodes, but man...sometimes it is beautiful. Riley and Jonesy will go off on five minute long perfect parodies of the tuck and flow generation and it is enough to make you spit your drink. The first five minutes of the series remain my favorite. I put a link to Shoresy's best lines on here a few pages back.

Started Mindhunter this weekend. So far, so good.
It's based on a book that came out aeons ago about the original work with serial killers that led to the whole "profiling" approach. I think I read it because someone told me Thomas Harris read the book, went out to meet the people who wrote it, and had based Will Graham in Red Dragon on a pastiche of people he met. It's a fascinating read just because of the exhaustive interviews with captive serial killers that they did to mine information about serial killers. Pretty high stakes poker.

I will always remember Deliverance because of the Christopher Reeve Superman movies. I saw Superman with a cousin who had seen Deliverance. I heard him make some comment to the effect that taking it from hillbillies turns you into a toady for supervillains.

I burned through the first 10 episodes of Mindhunter quickly. It was slightly uneven with some slower episodes but I really liked it. It was the opposite of NAS's comment about Gotham - some of the developments happened way too fast. Next season might not come until January, though, so if you haven't already gone there, I'd think of waiting until Christmas holidays or getting snowed in.
Also, for Canadians keeping score, the girlfriend in this is the daughter of Paul Gross, the guy who played the Mountie on Due South and went on to direct Passchendaele.

Anybody else here watching 90 Day Fiance? It’s the most addicting show on TV right now. I could binge watch that shit 24/7.
EDIT: My wife watches 90 Day Fiance. I sometimes find myself taking a glance at the TV when she watches it.
