Ok- so I know the record shows something wonderful! I get it. But, I don't know if last year's collapse is lingering, or what. But, no matter how hard I try. I CANNOT be optimistic about this team. I mean they just beat Fla & played pretty fucking great against them. But, I think about this team in the playoffs & I just see 🤮! I wish I didn't feel this way, but tbh. The thought has even crossed my mind to not even watch the B's in the playoffs unless they go to the final. The thought doesn't stay long! Of course I'm watching every fucking possible second!
I can't even say it's my depression, because I honestly haven't been depressed since Aug,2023. I don't know if it's the blown leads, getting pushed around too much, can't win critical defensive faceoffs, shoddy goaltending has crept in quite a bit since the all-star break. Mostly Swayman, but Ully has been guilty as well. So- that's all I said who was 90% responsible for the Bruins early season success. So- now seeing the goalies armor lose some of their kevlar. That of course isn't helping. Someone said the other day. "You can't just flick a switch once the playoffs start & expect to be successful!" That's BULLSHIT! There's been a ton of teams that have done exactly that! My hope is this year's Bruins becomes one of those teams!

As a fellow Bruin fan said to me, "this is a flawed Boston team". I agree and very "bipolar" if you will. A player like Grzelcyk will get pounded and exposed in the post-season.
But it's all about the 1st round. I do think the Bruins can get into the 2nd round with this roster. And like 2019, after that, you just never know.

My heart sinks in the first round. Get rid of that monkey and anything’s possible.
I am already fretting, but last year is the major cause.
I would love to see the best lineup. That doesn’t include Grizz or Lauko

I had a conversation yesterday with my "Dallas Cowboys fan" brother. Nite you are not alone on the subject. He was ready to give Henien the 7th player award, he mentioned trading Marchand next season, and stated the one a done playoff run. It was depressing as I too try to keep a positive attitude despite what I see on the ice from time to time against the crappy teams in the NHL. If the team plays well and up to its best then I don't mind losing..... ah, in the second round.

Heinen, Freddy or Coyle should get the 7th man...and oh yeah, I'm feeling it through my Gryz-colored glasses....do I have to keep reminding people of 2010? It's like the most forgotten choke of all-time (up 3-0, up 3-0 in game 7...it's like the Best Team Ever Reg. Season for some reason doesn't get to matchup against that sports historical collapse?), and yet for some reason the B's won the Cup the very next year...that should cheer up my good pal B-GOAT and my better buddy Goalie Nite

Sometimes, I feel pessimistic due to the notion that the 2023 Bruins were better and they flamed out, so it can take a bit of effort to get ramped up for the 24 Bruins. Then I remind myself that the 24 Bruins will NOT have to play the 2023 Bruins to make a run.
Sure we have more question marks than last years team, but as noted, last years team isnt in it, and I dont think theres any team in 24 without some question marks of their own.
Get hot and peak at the right time and anything can happen. I sill remember that year when the 7 and 8 seeds were running over everybody

I love this team. As far as I'm concerned, they're overachieving and everything/anything they do in the playoffs is a load of cherries on top of my sundae. Almost everyone had them barely making the playoffs, if at all -- both national pundits as well as people on this board. Sure, they're flawed, just like every other team. They also have enough talent and goaltending to make a deep run if things fall their way (and they play to max team potential). In some ways, this team is actually a lot like the 2010-2011 team (statistically)... not saying they're going to run through the playoffs to the Cup, but they're better than anyone expected, and have the right pieces to make a deep run if things work out.
But if not, I'm fine with that too because this team wasn't built to be a contender this season. All I'm saying is that the Panthers were just about the worst team (in every measurable way) in the playoffs last year, and made it to the finals. Shit happens. I'm just going to enjoy the ride.

The double retirements hurt big time plus the exit of at least another 6 only compounded things. What team can survive with the AHL revolving door like this team and be where they are in the standings. Perhaps it’s trick mirrors so why not keep the faith in the playoffs…

They've earned a too seeding, but in eight games everything goes back to zero and it's all up in the air. This team reminds me of the Kings Cups teams just in how they ate constructed. Depth scoring. System. Goaltending. I don't know what will happen but I do know a lot of people ate crow for jumping off the wagon because they went with the odds that always say even the best teams are no better than about 25% to win it all rather than just let it ride. Bs will have a home playoff date mid April. Opponent still TBD. Everything else is about the players playing the games.

I've made it a point to change the channel immediately after a win because it made me sick and I've missed a lot of games this year after not missing one in like 30 years... I really just don't want them to repeat stupid mistakes from last year. We are in.. Rest your players and fuck the regular season and home ice.. Just be fucking ready this time and don't fuck up the goalie rotation. If they can be smart and rested, they have a good a chance as almost everyone else.
