Bruins come in with the least regulation losses at 17 in the league. OT in playoffs is different and no fucking shootouts. They just need to be better than of late That is good, in reference to regulation loses, but finishing teams off before or during OT was definitely an issue.

means jack. 1. not since late January, which skews reality 2. being tied after 60 minutes is worse than leading after 60 minutes, you play til you lose. 3. nothing about this team suggests they have any kind of advantage over others..going into overtime. That's not his point, knucklehead. his point is they WEREN'T LOSING AFTER 60 MINUTES. AND YEAH, IT' S A GOOD THING. LOLOLOLOL don't you get mad recogning an obvious great point.

I'll fall back on what I've said a few times already. If the likes of Pasta, Marchand, Debrusk, et.al insist on playing hero-puck, then I think TO will easily win. If they play a team game, not try to go 1-on-3, thread ridiculous passes through opponents sticks, shoot when the lane is open, crash the net, and play a simple grind it out game...then they can win.
If they wanna play fancy pants and mistake laziness for composure, then the golf course will be awaiting them in short order.
They'll need Linus and Sway to be their best.
And just my shitty opinion, but Lauko and his one point every six games can have a seat on the 9th floor (sound and fury signifying nothing).
And for God's sake stop turning the puck over coming out of their zone. It's maddening and they've been bitten by it so often this year. Just get the effing puck out of the zone already. TO will feast on that nonsense.

The regular season means absolutely nothing because points are awarded to teams--team points--for gimmicks that are not NHL hockey. It has turned regulation 60-minute ties into a joke because back when it was regarded that 2 teams played to a regulation tie--guess what that means both teams gave it their all over 60 minutes...so both get a point--it's what I call being fair...Call me Ishmael, but I actually liked regulation NHL ties--why? Because in this sport overtime is taxing to the point where you can't keep playing 5-minute overtimes like basketball, and it's far more difficult to score a goal 5-on-5 in overtime than it is to get enough baskets to win a NBA game--for example. Of all the major sports, only the NHL changes its overall rules for play to decide a game. NBA you don't play 3 on 3, baseball you might put a guy on second base or the international rule--but you don't change the 9 on the field and the pitcher faces the hitter...in NFL, you don't play 7 on 7...only the NHL has turned team points into a gimmick. So in conclusion, 3 on 3 makes the regular season a joke. Some teams miss the playoffs and make the playoffs due to a gimmick. Right or wrong. Finally, the NHL playoffs and 5 on 5 overtime is the right way to decide games. And you have the 4 OT games and some of them are grueling, exciting, whatever. But trying to do that in the regular season would and is impossible. Trying to please the fans or the media by having gimmicks is how the NHL solved their "tie' issue.

I'll buy you that ice cream, but you're gonna have to show me the entrance to the original Batcave, next time i'm in town.

This series might come down to who's got the better special teams. I'm hoping in this moment, it's Boston. The Bruins were in the Top 10 in penalty killing. Toronto had the number 7 ranked power play but scored only once against the B's in 11 chances. We know Boston's extra man advantage has been anything but that over the last while. In the final 20 games of the regular season, the Bruins scored just six times in 43 chances. They have to get that sorted for it to become any kind of a weapon. Toronto's penalty kill is the 24th best this year. (Had to get in that backhanded compliment.) Boston weren't so dry against these guys with three power play goals in their four match ups. Ullmark and Swayman are better goalies than Samsonov and Woll and I think it is on the Loaf duo to up their game for them to have a shot. These two aren't the backbone of their club the way Boston's guys are. Sometimes the stats mean shit. We've seen that. Just something to consider as a factor. I'm going to enjoy seeing the Bruins play a rugged style. It's the playoffs. Probably something like that last regular season game between the Bruins and Toronto when they combined for 91 hits.

If I had a dime for every time I screamed "Don't just effing stand there!" on the PP, I'd be able to...well, at least buy a six pack.

I hate to say it, but if the trends continue like they did near the end of the season for the Bruins, and they play like the Harlem Bruins and not the Boston Bruins, and their lack of goal scoring continues and they make Sammy and Holl look like All Stars, this could be a very short series.

At the end of this series, the media will be talking about underachieving "star players" that seem unable to lead their team to victory in the post season.
It could be Matthews-Marner-Nylander. It could be Marchand-Pasta-McAvoy. Time to find out.

Good old special teams Rich. It was a while back but that '11 team had a pretty anemic PP and they were pronounced dead before the series. As for the PK vs TO it's the old cliché of stay out of the box. Pretty sure the B's may lead the league in high sticking penalties. Bottom line is try to avoid the man down scenario and hope the refs (for both teams) give us a little Old Time Hockey and just let the guys PLAY. These playoffs are gonna be insane when you consider the parity and the matchups. If everyone plays up to their capability -- our boys got as good a chance as any.

I was thinking of the bitch slapping, shupe. In the 4-1 win in Boston, I thought that was the Bruins' first real rugged display for the majority of that game in a while. Toronto came in and initiated the hitting but Boston responded with their own. I want them to set the tone in that department. The old win the battle not the war. What the leafs did was show they are gonna be the aggressor. I hated it. And nothing gives me warm and fuzzy feelings at the moment bc our offence seems to have run dry. I know the games were meaningless. Then why play the stars. They initiated in that game and the B's responded which was more than we'd seen of them most of the season up until then. A novel concept would be for the Bruins to be the initiators.
