It looks like Blake gave McLellan the old vote of confidence, he's safe until the end of the year, hahaha.

Lambert out on Long Island, Patrick Roy in as head coach. Lou Lam had seen enough.

I'm thinking Lou wanted some fire on his team. They do kind of play like a team with no pulse most nights.

I was watching an interview with John Tortarella before his Flyers lost in Detroit a couple days ago and I cannot find a record or reporting of his comments anywhere (that dont require subscriber status). They were hilarious.
He was saying that hes an old coach and hes been around a long time and coaching now simply isnt the correct X’s and O’s that it used to be. He said you simply cannot “over coach “ the modern player, it doesnt work on them. He used to have each player super prepared but he cant do that any more.
He kept beating around the bush, trying not to say they are snowflake entitled pussies but it was obvious what he was getting at.
He said after so many of the bad goals that the team gives up and the endless mistakes they make, he just cant say anything, just walks away and looks at the sky.
Interviewer finally asked “what is it, is it the speed of the game now?” Torts says, “No, its the dumbness.”
Interviewer choked on it, tried to get clarification.
Omg, i almost fell out of my chair. He explained it a bit more but he was calling the modern, high -paid player out as a box or rocks and uncoachable.
I couldn’t help but think of comments Cassidy might have said after he was fired. Torts seems he was talking about him (among others).

I don't know if it was a temporary thing or he let them use them again but i found that funny, enough with the videos!! Haha.

I think some coaches, when they realize they don't like working with their current crop of players and for the organization anymore, even willingly and deliberately accelerate the process. (Maybe not Ruff, but I definitely wouldn't put it past KFClaude. "Free" buckets every night on the couch instead of answering the same questions after games?) Or do you guys think there's something like "coach's honor" in everyone?

It's just the expectations, momentum off of last season, outside looking in - not enough.

Last year "Uncle Akiva" Akira Schmid sometimes looked like the heir apparent to Martin Brodeur. This season his play was more like Swiss cheese, while Munich-born Nico Daws made you think he had a few too many sips of "Spaten Oktoberfest" before each game. And Vanecek has never really impressed me. Fitzgerald was probably hoping one of his young goalies could come out of his funk.

In the not-shocking-at-all Tuesday moments. Granato canned in Buffalo. Damn even the video coordinator got bounced.
