Guy Lafleur has passed away today. First NHL superstar outside of Boston that I remember. I remember his rookie season when he wore the helmet.

Andy Fletcher, who played synthesizers in Depeche Mode, the electronics-heavy British band that developed a huge fan following and sold millions of records in the 1980s and ’90s, has died. He was 60. There was a day when I never would have thought I would say 60 is "young." Icons of my younger years keep falling away, makes me feel old. I liked Depeche Mode www.youtube.com/watch?v=u1xrNaTO1bI

RIP Henry Hill, one of the best roles in one of the best movies. He nailed it. Played a great coke head in Cop Land too.

One of my all-time favorites. Resurrected his career after the studios abandoned him.

One of my all-time favorites. Resurrected his career after the studios abandoned him. When I was younger, I thought I hated him. Then I realized there were about as many movies where I thought he was awesome as where I really disliked him. To quote Jon Lovitz...ACTING!! Appreciated his ability to play to both sides after that.

James Caan and Tony Sirico this week? It's like a cultural emasculation for all of us.
Somebody check on Sylvester Stallone, Chuck Norris, and Bruce Jenner.

Absolutely loved Paulie Walnuts........i imagine this is what Cassidy said to the B's players when they came back to the bench, hah! At any rate , Paulie Walnuts is one of the few characters that outgrew the person that played them, along with Gilligan & the Lone Ranger among others, RIP Tony Sirico.

And then Chris said how his place looked like shit. To me, Sopranos is the best show I've ever seen. I've watched it 3 times, start to finish. Paulie was a great character.

I've watched it 3 times, start to finish. Paulie was a great character. To me, Paulie was always the reminder that there's no honour among thieves, no matter how much they mythologized loyalty etc. There was no point in time that you didn't know Paulie was going to do what was best for Paulie. Sometimes that was be the loyal capo for Tony, but sometimes it was snitching to other families and other times it was just doing the dumbest shit. I will always remember Paulie most for the trip to Italy where they're at this spectacular restaurant eating all this real Italian cuisine - fish, seafood etc. - and Paulie is bitching at them for pasta with "gravy", and then later in his hotel making small talk with a prostitute who has no time for his bullshit and running up against the possibility that they're related.
