I think they will have a big offseason. They were killed by injuries but look slow and old. They are trying to retool. Mantha and Kizzy are toast. Orlov is close with Ovi. I don’t see it happening. Their def is set. I hope they get first pick overall. Old is right , Backstrom 35 yrs and injured, Carlson 33 yrs and injured, Oshie 36 yrs and injured, Ovi 37 yrs and missed the end of the season, rest of the forward group mediocre. Their defence looks horrible and goaltending is so so. It's going to be a long season in Washington, fans can look forward to Ovi's all time gl chase. I think they will be ok with a healthy off season. Def is a bit underrated. Some young guys filling in now. Goaltending I don’t know why they didn’t keep what they had. Both still playing and Seattle goalie is an ex cap. Fwds there will be a change. Strome had a nice season. Kuzy is gone. Backstrom could retire. Wilson looks good. But there is a need to go young there. Speed.

That's ridiculous and insulting to the Selke winner. Probably 1 mil base, but EZ bonuses for more millions. It may be ridiculous but the B's need cap space. If Bergy wants to come back it would be nice to have the most space available to give him his best chance at a Cup. I realize there could be trades to open up some space but there are no guarantees on who would go or if Sweeney trades anyone and for what. I think Bergy saw his last best chance at hoisting Lord Stanley evaporate Sunday evening…. And realized that had the B’S won the cup that he’d be hoisting it around the ice while another player pushed his wheelchair….

Yeah, 1 mil but plus bonuses. $30mil in cap space the next year. Bonuses paid then for him and DK.

Said it will be Boston or bust. Not going back Czechia. Sounds to me like a guy who’s leaning towards retiring…. You're putting your own feelings on that. The words don't lean on playing or retiring. "I'll decide in a few weeks" is simply that.

I think one thing may influence DK to play is clearly the camaraderie with 18/88...that's about the only thing I think would keep him around...If he retires, I think he went out on top. His regular season was one of his best seasons since his hey days of 10-13.

His regular season was one of his best seasons since his hey days of 10-13. Also, playing NHL hockey is fun and so is $3million. I think his wife likes being a WAG too. The only reason he wouldn't continue is if he felt he couldn't play at a high level, his family didn't like it, he didn't want to train or had health concerns. When you're done, you're done. It's a big decision for both him and Bergeron. If their family doesn't mind and their health is good, I can see them playing in the NHL for one more year.

Let's just say everyone is pissed and wants to try to right a wrong:
This roster is about $2.5M over the cap and assumes you trade Reilly and don't buy him out.
Marchand-Bergy($1M)-Debrusk Bert($5M)-Zacha-Pasta Lauko-Coyle-Freddy($2M) Looch-Nosek($1M)-Fliggy($1M) Greer
Orlov($5M)-Mac Lindholm-Carlo Forbort-Zboril or Zboril-Gudas
Ullmark Swayman ($2.5)
You've got options, let Orlov go and sign a Gudas or Graves cheaper. Or you trade Ullmark. Or replace Forbort worth a rookie/vet minimum and deal with a weaker 3rd pairing.

I would absolutely trade Ullmark and Forbort to keep Bertuzzi and Orlov.
Orlov kind of hinted he wants to go back to Washington.

Upon reflection, the fact that I am already running salary cap #'s and mocking next years lineup three days after wanting to divorce the Bruins for good, equates my relationship with them to an abused housewife.
Things were going well, I thought they changed, thought it would be different this time. They wined and dined me with amazing records, big time trades. I spent nearly a mortgage payment to take the family to a game.
I was so sucked into the "Last Dance" I dedicated May and June to focus solely on the Bruins. Rescheduled a business trip that was for mid June because I was going to be at the parade.
And within two weeks, they bitch slapped me, kicked me, told me they never really loved me anyways and left me standing alone with the kids and dog. And somehow there might yet be hope to fix this next year.
Effing Bruins, why do I love you so much!

The problem is you roll that symbol on its side and the "B" isn't a B, it's a massive set of tits in your face. She might be a cunt, but she's a hot cunt and you'll keep coming back to get fucked again and again.

I would absolutely trade Ullmark and Forbort to keep Bertuzzi and Orlov. Orlov kind of hinted he wants to go back to Washington. The more I think about this, unless Sway comes back on a cheap bridge deal, having a 1a/1b goalie tandem is a luxury not worth losing a key player over. More importantly I'd prioritize a quality Dman over the two goalies. Keumper won the cup last year. This year's final 8 goalies are: Skinner Broissant(sp?) Anderson Schmid Samsonov BOB/Lyons Grubauer Ottenger Of the 8, Ott appears to be the only grade A type goalie and he is not even proven. Point is id trade Ullmark to get back in the draft and keep/improve our top 4 D.

Maybe but they still have a lot of talent on this team even if Bergie and Krejci retire. Goalie is set, defensemen are set even if they lose Orlov. Trading Ullmark could be an option to get a center or pick. Keep Bertuzzi. They're not that far off. Look at the teams still in the playoffs. All of them have weaknesses.

Keumper is an average goalie at best but he had a career year and Colorado won the Cup.The Bruins have better goalies than any team still in the playoffs, an above average defense they just need to hope Bergie comes back and maybe even Krejci. If not Ullmark could be involved in a trade or maybe even Hall. You don't need to win 65 games to win the Cup we found that out the hard way!

Not having Forbort and Grzelcyk does leave a bit of a hole but the top 4 is set. Orlov-McAvoy Linholm-Carlo Zboril-UFA vet one year deal Loheri Swayman-Bussi You still have money for RFAs. The 4th line will be rookieish with TFred leading it. I would feel really great about the top-9 forwards. Bertuzzi, Hall and Coyle stay.
