B's v. Isles...48's not finest hour. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jj0TIdLVweMGo specifically to 1:05, 3 min and then 5:45....this was his famous 2021 playoff top pairing game with 73. B's were in this game...well until 48 decided they weren't.

After watching the NHL All-Star Game and after further reflection with some time off from action, I've done a lot of thinking on this, and I have to say that with perspective from having this time off from B's hockey....Gryz still sucks.

Stop it stop it stop it …
Grizz don’t suck
He is a huge bargaining chip for McD, who wants to play full time with Pasta, or Crosby who wants to be reunited with The Brad
10 years of showcasing, he is now the star chip to bring back the bundle they couldn’t get for JT

After watching last night (and many other nights, but last night really got to me), I have had enough of Forbort. Forget Grzy, at least he can make a decent pass out of the zone or skate the puck up and occasionally Gryz even makes a good move in the offensive zone to open up some lanes. Forbort looked overly slow, was very sloppy with the puck in his own zone, routinely missed easy passes to open Bruins that could have cleared the zone. His penalty killing is not worth it. I would rather see both Wotherspoon and Lohrei in the lineup than Forbort, Shattenkirk and yes (to stay on topic for this thread) even Gryz.

Gryz has the only 5-point game by a B since 2020....that's insane.

This guy has to go...sorry, he needs to be healthy scratched just once...this trotting him out there as a regular 6 d is now becoming an abject embarrassment to evaluating NHL hockey. Analytics now ignored on this piece of shit...as shitty as 27 has been offensively, and truly tentative, he's been 10x the d guy than this piece of shit 48.

And yet he's the guy Monty went to to fill in for Lindholm, and they came back to win a game where they were not at their best. He finished +2 (out of a possible +3). The Toby hate is full on Michael Scott vs. HR.

But seriously the package that is Gryz is a good PMD, except when he’s about to get checked then he’s not reliable; he’s showing some better leverage in the defensive end though that will always be an area of relative weakness; the compensation one hopes for in a player like that is good offense and Donny’s bet that Gryz would become Krug Jr busted. I think he’s had a better year than last but his total package is only worth about 1.5 to 2.

Nothing sums up Gryz better than his recent ejection for the ball shot after a hit. He doesn't suck at hockey. He has good games. But he has one big problem: he's a coward. We saw it when he did something sneaky rather than confront an aggressor. We we it rear it's head when he gives up pucks when the physical play comes. Cowards can look great 90-95% of the time until they are faced with real adversity and their colors show. That's Gryz.

Big Bad Bruins? Sounds more like "19 and a half men".

The constant defense of Gryz fuels his existence as a B...he'll be there until probably for the rest of his career. Well protected by Sweeney/Monty. Only others can do something wrong and be H.S.

Cowards can look great 90-95% of the time until they are faced with real adversity and their colors show. That's Gryz. Bravo. Yes. Bruins have been faced with the Sophie's Choice of continuing to play a coward who, on balance, plays more acceptable games than terrible ones, but who everyone can see is a coward who cannot take a hit to make a play and who has zero value in making the defensive zone uncomfortable for opponents. They have not been able to accumulate enough defensemen who play the game well enough to make him expendable, and no matter how much a coward on the blueline drives Bruins fans nuts, a turnstile or a pylon like Josh Brown is a bigger liability. Before you point out that Lohrei is in the A...I think that's a calculated move to give him a lot of TOI and pro experience while the Bruins don't absolutely need to upgrade on Toby right now. If the slump had continued, I think we'd see the kid sooner rather than later. As it stands, I'm guessing he's up for the playoffs. But all that said, I'm not sure he pushed Toby out of the lineup. Probably pushes Shittencrack out first - Monty seems to have no time for Shittencrack.

Or...others are actually worse players and if you really want Toby gone, you're going to need to send Shittencrack packing and probably find a better alternative than Wotherspoon who has been unable to sustain his 7th D NHL level play. Note that that doesn't say Toby is any good.
