Grew up playing baseball, though second to hockey always loved it. Not sure if it's because of kids/work but I just cannot get into them the last couple of years. Was talking to a co-worker about it last night, he's the same. Man we had it good with Pedro, Schilling, Manny, Papelbon, Lowe, Varitek etc...Then players like Millar, Nixon etc..Kind of hard getting up for Napoli, Boegarts and Shane Victorino. Like Brock Holt and really lost interest when they dealt Iglesias. Growing up a shortstop I could watch that kid play all day.

Love baseball. The Red Sox really need to fire Chili Davis. Too many good hitters in the crapper right now.

It's very odd that they suck in almost every offensive category except homers and OBP. They are near the top when it comes to putting balls into play but it's not translating into hits and runs. Basically, they are hitting it to people instead of where they ain't at a historically significant clip. It can't continue for much longer so I expect some of those balls start finding their way in for hits. Plus a player or 2 will heat up and the hitting will look more like everyone expected it to before the season started.

I saw that they have the lowest batting average with RISP against lefties since 1914!

I used to watch almost every game. I knew the rotation, the stats, the batting order and the upcoming opponent. When they bought Crawford and Gonzalez, I stopped caring. They became the Yankees. I haven't tuned into a game since then. I heard they won the World Series in 2013. I didn't watch one second of it. I saw some stuff over that summer about the team. Fear the beard. How goddamn pathetic. Nice job forcing a slogan. They looked like losers, panhandlers, homeless who slept in the Fens. I'm all set with baseball. Four and a half hour nine inning games without rain delays due to slow pitching, 100 pickoff bluffs to first and four pitchers in the seventh inning. Add in the blatant cheating with Bucholz and his doctored sunscreen balls (sunscreen on his forearm in a dome game...and it's okay) and I have no idea how anyone could ever enjoy such BS. World series celebrations with booze spraying and goggles after a first round win is so sad.
Give me Manny, Papi, Pedro, Nixon, Varitek, Mueller, and Schill with Pap coming out of the bullpen. I want Cabrera and Millar on my TV, not Purchased and Purchased.
F the Sox and F baseball.

The Sux are hitting .200 against left handed pitchers. Han Ram is hitting .200 now after destroying the ball in April. Big Fatty couldn't catch up to a beer-gut Wakfield thrown 60 mph fastball. All the money Cherington spent on starting pitching via trade or free agancy has been abysmal.
But heh de Red Sukkers are only 4 games back of the Rays and the trade deadline hasn't passed yet so we'll see.
PS. Everyone needs bad azz stud Trout on their team.

I'm a fan of many different sports. I was always of the Red Sox , my 1st gloves was signed Freddy Lynn, instant fan. In the National league was an Expos fan. That series being down 3-0 to the Yankees will be my best moment as a baseball fan. The NHL weren't playing and at my friends being close with some the Habs players the night the comeback started the Red Sox were losing and Komisarek being a Yankees fan said to me " You like the Red Sox too ! " " well it's over tonight". I watched the rest of the game at home and the rest his history. He got me back with the Tyree catch. Also that comeback from the St Louis Cardinals against Texas a few years ago was amazing. Things like that will always keep me as a fan.
Although a baseball season is too long and there's too much to do lately for me I haven't been able to watch much , rather watch playoff hockey and tonight got to PIP the Red Sox win .
Whoa ! DUCKS SCORE AGAIN , that's 3 straight goals in 40secs.

Same as others above. Somewhere in the mid-to-late 90's, about when Nomar came along, this team became so captivating and fun to watch. I watched a ton and knew everything about the team too. The playoffs runs were riveting, 2004 was magical on so many levels, and I was at the 2007 Game 4 win in Denver. Watching them actually win a World Series was awesome. Then things started to slide. Steroids, the hiring of mercenaries, the pink hats, etc. etc.
I have less time on my hands now too for sports, and I'm a hockey fan 365 days a year (obviously). I've barely paid attention to the Sox at all.

Who are the Sox looking to take in tonight's draft? Should be a good player for them at #7 but they don't pick again until #81.

"Since 2002, here are some of the players taken with the No. 7 pick: Nick Markakis, Prince Fielder, Homer Bailey, Troy Tulowitzki, Clayton Kershaw, Matt Harvey, Yonder Alonso and Archie Bradley." Liking good ol Lucky #7 for sure. I always want to go pitcher but the MLB draft is so much more of a crap shoot even in the top 10. If i'm picking, yah I am going pitching. Carson Fulmer RHP or Dillon Tate another RHP.

Sounds like the top of the draft might be all short stops anyway so you guys should get one of the best pitchers in this year's draft.

Carson Fulmer still available. Sox already drafted in 2012 so maybe they take him again.

Went from 1 HR in 2104 to 19 in 2015...I hope we don't hear rumors that he works out with Bonds and A-rod in the off-season.
