More supporting movie roles great performances. Jason Robards All the President's Men (*Woodstein!! I love Robards, he did a great Doc Holliday with James Garner in Hour of the Gun), Don Cheadle Devil in a Blue Dress, Tom Wilkinson in Full Monty, Tim Roth and Steve Buscemi in Reservoir Dogs, Val Kilmer and Bill Paxton in Tombstone, Billy Bob Thornton in Simple Plan, Edward G. Robinson in Soylent Green, DeNiro in Untouchables (bat scene), Gary Sinise in Forrest Gump, Wilford Brimley in Absence of Malice (short role, fantastic when he fires an employee), Doug Hutchison in Green Mile (the guy was so overlooked to me--should have won an Oscar and Duncan was good but the character of Percy was sensational and sick/assholic) and add Sam Rockwell's prison role (jesus such great acting), Roy Scheider in Marathon Man (best scene with the great Laurence Olivier), Nicholson in a Few Good Men, Jerry Lewis best role in King of Comedy, Charles Grodin in Dave and in Heaven Can Wait, Joan Cusack in Arlington Road, Bob Gunton in Shawshank Redemption, Brad Pitt in Snatch (absolutely hysterically funny), Olivia De Haviland in Gone With the Wind, Mac Davis in North Dallas Forty, Paul Dooley in Breaking Away (refund! refund!), Stacy Keach in the Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean, Tim Roth again in Rob Roy, Joaquin Phoenix in 8 Milimeter,
add to best acting main roles--Angela Landsbury in Manchurian Candidate, Jack Lemmon in the Apartment, Walter Matthau in Bad News Bears, George C. Scott in Patton,

Probably the best performance of a character going completely insane. What's also great, is this version of, "Joker" has nothing to do with the over budget garbage Batman movies. That set looks like it was taken straight from The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. The curtains, the carpet, the furniture, where the band is. It's a great recreation.

Every actor could have received a best acting supporting Oscar they were that good, they all seemed nuts for sure, DeVito, Lloyd, Dourif, Sampson, Schiavelli, Berryman, Lassick, Redfield and of course Nicholson. Nurse Ratched though, whew, what a villain, Fletcher played that brilliantly.

Best TV/Cable Series 1. Homeland 2. Sopranos 3. Breaking Bad 4. The Wire 5. Mary Tyler Moore Show 1. The Wire
That's all I have ever ranked. I love the Sopranos and Breaking Bad. I watched a lot of Homeland but I could stand Captain Winters being a bad guy and I really couldn't stand Claire Daines. I don't think she's a very good actress. "I won't. I can't let this happen again." Nails.
I also enjoyed Oz, Justified, Southland, Homocide:, NYPD Blue, Longmire, Battlestar Gallactica, Andor, Mando, Black Sails, The Expanse, True Blood (shut up, it's a decent show, well acted, lots of sweet, sweet tits and Vampire Bill is great.) Narcos and Narcos: Mexico, Star Trek TOS and TNG, The Americans, Game of Thrones and now House of the Dragon oh the list goes on and on. Shorter shows like Generation Kill and Squid Game and of course Band of Brothers.

My 10 Favorite Movies: 1. Reservoir Dogs 2. Goodfellas 3. Jaws 4. Memento 5. LA Confidential 6. Planet of the Apes 7. The Firm 8. Hunt For Red October 9. Unforgiven 10. Monty Python and the Holy Grail HM-Slap Shot I do like Monty Python's Flying Circus, but "Holy Grail" is probably the most unfunny movie I have ever tried to watch ("The Meaning Of Life" is not really funny IMHO either).

Band of Brothers is the best mini series ever to me, John Adams is great, it was tough to watch by NBC's The Holocaust was another....this was famous for a really bad TV move...so there was a horrible shot of the bodies of prisoners burned or thrown into a pile...many of them starved and just emaciated...then they cut to a Wheat Thins commercial with Sandy Duncan...I remember this because I was watching with my Dad (we are Jewish) and I turned to him and said that has to be the most tasteless commercial cut in TV history...and I was just a kid when I watch it, but I was too young for Heidi Game (cut from Jets-Raiders for a shitty movie). Loved Justified, many episodes of OZ, Southland was a great show that not many people knew about, ER, and NYPD Blue, The Practice were two of my favorites, and I watched Game of Thrones and my family loves both Thrones and Dragon. Liked recently Better Call Saul, Animal Kingdom and Billions. Short series that was great on California politics and canceled was Mr. Sterling with Josh Brolin and I think his Dad played his dad. West Wing was really good but had some truly boring episodes as well. For comedies for me it was Cheers, Seinfeld, King of Queens (Leah Remini might be Scientology and then I guess she exposed it in documentary but she is and was one of the funniest TV wives ever...went toe to toe with Kevin James and just really great lines from her and reactions..plus she was hot), All in the Family, Frasier (intelligent, really funny), some 30Rock--Baldwin and Tracy Morgan scenes together were all-time hilarity...Baldwin did a great Morgan impression in one of the episodes), Loudermilk (except for that stupid run of episodes with the non-alcoholic and the black sober crazy ex cop), Brockmire (caustically funny)...some others that I'm sure others will bring up.

Wu was the best and of course that's where Timothy Olyphant got on the scene as actor...and then Justified.

I don't watch shit. Two-thirds of the shows listed above I've never seen. Maybe I'll give Deadwood a try. I have such a preference for comedies, or books, that I just can't seem to get into too many of the drama style shows. It feels like a commitment.

I watch movies but not series at least not to any large degree. Series does mean commitment, some of them could be shorten by three seasons, homeland for instance. I would make a list movies of all time. Watching is a matter of what mood. I watched Shogun recently, but I like Japanese culture for some odd reason. I've seen many have listed for movies above, and I own them for context on how I don't have favorites. I have always liked the Unforgiven, Hitchcock films, and "shoot em up, kill em" types. John Wick for instance. Ha.

Oz was a badass show. I'd never seen characters like Beecher, Said, Keller, Schillinger, Alvarez. I was back and forth between this, The Sopranos and Six Feet Under back then.

Don't watch a lot of TV (outside of Jeopardy, John Oliver, and Antiques Roadshow lol). 95% of my TV is sports.
Did watch Shogun recently. It was good. Liked it more than I thought I would.
I do watch movies though.
Someone mentioned One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. It's def in my top 10 all time.
Some others (No order and not exactly Manly-Man flix): Casablanca The Big Lebowski Amelie Kelly's Heroes Princess Bride My Man Godfrey Arrival Amadeus Gandhi The Last Waltz Pan's Labyrinth The Adventures of Robin Hood The Godfather Lawrence of Arabia (That Cinematography, Holy fuck it's gorgeous) 1917

What about Ozark and Succession? Both get high, high marks for sticking the landing with great endings. I loved Ozark as well. Great from first to last episode. Rose Langmore is a character for the ages. And I still have nightmares about Laura Linney.
We gave up on Succession. It was boring, the characters were not interesting enough and I found every single person unlikable.
