I can't believe what passes for journalism these days. 3 sentences citing some stats, article over. I hate the internet now. No wonder everyone needs to switch to youtube to read/hear anything that isn't directly an advertisement, not an advertisement, but framed by corporate interests, or clickbait BS to get you to some advertisements.

I'm reading that Lysell suffered a pretty serious injury Saturday night? He's going to miss significant time from what i've read, crashed into the boards heavily, left the ice with help from teammates.

"Ryan Mougenel on Fabian Lysell: "He's gonna miss, probably, significant time, I would imagine. It's disappointing. He was starting to play really well" Feel bad for Lysell.

I feel for him too, and this is partly why I thought Merk would make a better call up (this year). While both undersized (lysell and Merk), when guys are young and small, I worry about their ability to protect themselves. Being able to sense that hit coming, being able to keep head on a swivel, that kind of "ofther" stuff (by other I mean other than size, pure durability) that contributes towards staying healthy. Merk has a few years on him, so I thought he may be better in this regard. Its a bummer, especially because 1. Lysell has been playing so well and 2. Its starting to look like a pattern (struggling to stay healthy). Wishing him the very best.

I'm always in lined to be cautious when projecting AHL success when a guy is undrafted and probably for physical attributes. Merk's smaller and not that lightning quick small guy. Like Chris Bourque. So I am excited about his season...but not aure he can carry it up a level.

But hes an intriguing prospect who can score, pass, seems to have hockey IQ, and an improving 2 way game. Im just thinking he may earn another looksie , not sure if its gonna come this season. He didnt force us to keep him up when he came up, so I understand that and now may have to wait till camp next season. We'll see.

"But that performance in Hershey two weeks ago showed a viable blueprint for what Providence can do – and will need to do – when the postseason does begin."
Getting ready for the post-season.

OHL priority selection was yesterday. Two things of note. The kid who went first overall is a 6'5.5" and 233lb LW. He's a 16 yr old. Ke-rist.
And the first goalie and 37th pick by Kingston is an old friend's son. Gavin Betts. He's had a good midget career in Toronto, had a top notch playoff heading to this draft. He's got some growing to do - he's about six foot and a buck seventy. But always cool.
And on a completely different note, when Sean Monahan was billeted on my street, he was paired with a greasy grinder. Brett's now playing in the league Shoresy is based on.

He's hungry like the wolf. I'm okay that he smells like he sounds as long as he doesn't say no mas at any point.
